✮˚. ᵎᵎ 𖦹彡⋆｡˚

My alarm decided to wake up me up bright and early so I could start setting my plan into motion. I knew Elise would be taking a walk around the castle grounds this morning, I remember Reece had once told me she loves the quiet and that this was the best place to catch her in the morning.

"Elise!" I called, rushing to zip up my coat and hustle over to her. She was right next to the big fountain in the courtyard, it took me forever to find her.

"I need- I need help in Potions. I'm falling- falling behind. Do you think you could tutor me?" I huffed.

"Yeah, sure. Did you want to go now?"

I nodded desperately, so we made our way down to the dungeons. While Elise started gathering equipment, I started gathering answers.

"So...I know you said that you don't have feelings for Snape,"

"Severus." She corrected, avoiding eye contact.

"Severus. And I was just wondering if you don't have a crush, then why do you protect him from all of those bullies? Why is he such a special friend?"

I heard her sigh, "I just feel the need to protect him. I hate it when he gets hurt."

I nodded sympathetically, "I feel the same way with Charlotte." I said proudly. There was a bad feeling creeping up in my stomach when I said that. Elise pursed her lips,

"I don't have any sort of attachment to him."

"I don't know it sounds like a foundations of a crush." I nudged, grabbing two cauldrons and setting them down. She sighed and put her head in her hands,

"I don't know anything about this stuff. Reece never talks about it and it's not like you come running to me with your boy drama."

I smiled, ignoring her slight at me and placed my hand gently on her shoulder, she winced, getting my message.

"So I guess I have feelings for him so what?" She sighed, "I doubt he feels the same. He's in love with Lily Evans."

I laughed, how could slimy Severus ever have a crush on Lily Miss Perfect Evans. Elise glared at me.

"Why don't you ask him to the Christmas Ball!?" I shouted, Elise picked up her wand and silenced me. I couldn't move my mouth at all, and there was a weird tingly feeling.

"Why don't you shut your mouth." She snapped, before closing her eyes and exhaling her fingers pressed against her temple. I could tell she's thought about this before, the way her forehead creased made it seem like she's thought about a million ways to do it.

She flipped the page to make a simple calming drought and had me cut up the ingredients.

"N- No! You chop it not slice it." She corrected, grabbing my hand with hers and moving me like a puppet.

When I was silenced all I could focus on was how soft her hand was. I traced my eyes from the knife in my hand in hers all the way up to her dark eyelashes. She met my eyes with her piercing ones. It was then I realized Elise was really pretty.

"Don't even think about it," she said as if she was reading my mind, "Reece isn't my type and I'm not his."

She continued to cut and when we were finished I pointed to my lips. She unsilenced me.

"Why don't we go dress shopping later?" I suggested, Elise seemed apprehensive.

"They did just open a new dress shop in Hogsmeade." I added, Elise had me finish up the drought before answering.

"Fine. If you need more help with Potions let me know." She said. I grabbed all my stuff and headed out, but before seeing Elise take a big swig of the calming drought.

It was almost lunch, potion making seemed to take taken up quite a bit of time so I made my way to the Great Hall to enact part two of my plan.

"Ah my favorite trio!" I said happily, sitting down next to Remus, across from him were Sirius and James.

"Hiya Ruthie-poothie, what owes the pleasure?" Sirius asked, stuffing a piece of bacon into his mouth. I explained to them my situation and plan,

"Oh no can do. I will not be talking to that greasy haired git." James announced, crossing his arms. Sirius agreed and Remus looked uneasy.

"What he means to say-" Remus glared at James before looking at me, "is that we don't think we would be exactly the right people to suddenly be all 'buddy buddy' with Snape."

I nodded, wincing as I pictured how that would go down in reality. "Yeah...you guys are probably right. Thanks though."

Lily and I confirmed in the common room that we would meet up later to start working on my missing work. So after I ate with the boys, I quickly gathered my work from my room and headed down for the library.

"Hi Lily, thank you for meeting with me again." I smiled, setting down all stuff and taking a seat across from her. She returned my grin,

"Hi Ruth, what have you been up to lately?"

My eyes widened for a half a second, I didn't know whether to tell her about my plan with Snape but I remember Elise's comment about him liking Lily so maybe she could help.

"Actually I think I could use your help with something. You know Severus right?"

Lily nodded, "Yeah...what about him?" She asked cautiously.

"Well I was hoping that maybe you could help him get to the Christmas Ball-"

Lily held up her finger, "No thanks Ruth. I'd really love to help him out I really would, but I'm already going with someone."

"No no! I need him to ask Elise!" I clarified. Lily blinked, clearly confused.

"Ruth, no offense but I think this is a little too much drama for me to handle. I think if you work on your transfiguration essay, we can meet again soon and I'll look over it for you." She said quickly, gathering her things and making her way to the door.

My jaw dropped as I muttered a quick 'okay' before processing what had just happened, but then an angelic voice broke me out of my thoughts.

"C'mon Black! Don't you have better shit to do then to mess with Snape!?" The voice boomed. I ran out into the corridor with a grin from ear to ear.

It was Rio holding Sirius by the back of his shirt, pinning him against the wall while Snape stood a few feet back, his hair bright pink.
