S1 E9: Spider-stick

Chapter 5

Red POV

Red was sitting on top of a building, looking over the city. He felt bad for running away yesterday when Yellow and Amber tried to give him the antidote. But at the same time, he didn't want to give up his powers so soon.

Well, I better see if any sticks need my help today

He was swinging around the city when a strange bomb exploded in front of him.

"Oh my sticks!" he exclaimed, "Why does it smell so bad?"

He was so distracted by the odor that he forgot he was in the air. So, he started falling and ended up in an outdoor water fountain. As he was climbing out soaking wet, he heard laughter behind them.

"That was hysterical!"

Red turned around to see Mr Hickory flying on a glider.

"Mr Hickory! What are you doing here?

"Looking for you."

"Me? Why?"

"Because I want my revenge."

"Revenge!" said Red, surprised, "What did I do?"

"You destroyed my restaurant!" Mr. Hickory said angrily

"It wasn't that bad. I only broke a window, knocked some chairs and tables over, scared your customers - okay, that does sound kind of bad now that I said it out loud."

"Exactly!" said Mr Hickory, grabbing another bomb, "And now you're gonna pay for it."

He started throwing bombs at Red, but Red quickly dodged them all.

"Stay still."

"Never," yelled Red, "If you want to get me, you gonna have to catch me."

Soon, Red was swinging around the city while Mr. Hickory chased him with stinky bombs. Suddenly, Mr. Hickory jumped off his glider and pinned Red to a wall.

"Once I defeat you, I'm going to take your little pig friend and make him into the best porkchop. It would be my greatest dish ever."

"You leave Ruben out of this," Red said, kicking Mr. Hickory into a roof.

Red felt something whirled past him and saw Green aiming a gun at him.

"What are you guys doing?"

"Turning you two back to normal," Green said

"No way!" Red said as he webs up Green's gun.

"Red!" Green exclaimed, "Seriously!"

"I got it," Second said

Red grabs Second's gun with his webs and smashes it to the ground.

"Not a chance," Red said

He kept swinging until he was face-to-face with Blue

"Red, you have to stop and let us change you back to normal. You're messing up the city."

"But I like my powers," said Red, "And I want to keep them."

Red then web up Blue to a lamppost and tried swinging away but found himself floating in the air

"What's going on," Red asked.

"Why can't I move anymore," Mr Hickory said, floating beside him.

Red looks down to see Second glowing with his arm stretched out.

"Hurry," said Second, "I can't hold it for long."

Amber picked up the gun and shot the antidote at Red and Mr. Hickory.

"Finally," said Second, "We got them."

"Aw man," Red said, "My powers."

Red looks up to see everyone staring at him sternly

"Red," said Green, "What do you have to say to everyone."

"Uhhh....I'm sorry?"

"For?"

"Running away from you guys."

"And," said Blue

"And for ruining Mr Hickory's Diner."

"And," said Second

"What do you mean 'and'?" asked Red, surprised, "What else did I do?"

"You made a big mess in the city!" Amber said

"No, I didn't."

"Red," said Amber, facepalming, "Look behind you."

Red turned and saw webs scattered all over the place, as well as broken glass and trash."

"Oops."

"Here you go, " said Green, handing him a broom, "You're gonna need this."

"Do I really have to clean all of this up?" Red whined

"Yes!" said everyone

"Serve you right, " said Mr Hickory

"Not so fast, " said Amber. "I have a broom for you too. This mess is partly your fault."

"Aw sticks," said Mr Hickory, grabbing the broom

                                               ...

Red swept up the last bit of webs in the trash.

"Sorry again for causing so much trouble," said Red, "I just really like my powers."

"We can tell," Green laughed.

"Although now that I don't have them anymore, I'm just boring again," said Red, unhappily

"Boring?" said Amber. " You not boring."

"Yes, I am. How can I help the city without powers?"

"Well, with your job at the pet shop, you're helping Mr.Cedar and many animals," said Second

"You're also helping the city clean up this mess," said Blue, "You don't need super powers to be super."

"I guess so," Red said, reluctantly

"Come on," said Second, "We should be heading home now. I bet Ruben miss you."
