THE LEGACY

Part 1

Cricket is not just a game for Virat. It's his peace, his home, his everything. He loves this game with everything he has got. But, cricket has given many scars, heartbreaks to him. The so called fans trolled him and his family because the team or he didn't perform well in the match. First his Nushkie, his love was tagged as a bad luck a panoti like they say it. Then his Vamu, his little princess was tagged as a bad luck and was given rape threats. If this wasn't enough after 2019 WC they increased the trolls and started calling him chokli and many other names. All of this because he performed bad in the match, he couldn't win them the world cup under his captaincy or as a player. Every time he performed bad in the game or anyone in the team his wife was dragged in it just because she watched the match or she was there in the stadium supporting him and her brothers.

And even now from yesterday the fans are doing the same thing but the difference is that they have accused him for match fixing. Fixing the final of 2023 world cup. How could they even think about that he could do something like this. He eventually ignored it just like he does to every accusation and troll towards him but somewhere it hurts really bad to read and listen to things like that about himself. It was all fine until a certain email notification came on his laptop today morning.

The email was from the BCCI official requesting rather ordering him to attend a meeting at 10 o'clock. He knew it was about the rumors about the match fixing.

FLASHBACK (IT'S EVENING RN)

He entered the office and saw that all of the official members were waiting for him. 

''hello, Mr. Virat I think you very well know why we have called you here today'' said one of them

''There are serious accusation on you about fixing the world cup final, do you want  say something about it?'' asked another one 

Virat was feeling numb right now, how can someone have doubt about his loyalty towards his country after every sacrifice he has made. But mustering up the all courage he had he replied 

''Sir, all I want to say is that,  every time my foot was on the ground I was loyal toward my country, even in my dream I couldn't think of betraying my country.'' Virat said

''But the proof that I have in my hands are saying something else Mr. Virat'' said another one

''We called you here to tell you something. We have checked all the papers and they are not fake. So after considering all the things we have decided that the board is going to ban you from playing cricket for four years and we are going to announce it on social media soon.'' said the president himself

Right now he was sitting in his hotel room watching all the tweets, posts people had made after seeing the post from ICT page on social media accounts. It was trending on every news channel and on every platform.

The team barged into his room and he was somewhat relived but he also feared what if even they don't trust him like every one else.

''How could you sacrifice our dream for your personal benefit'' said Jinks 

Before he could even digest what Jinks said another bomb was dropped on him 

''I never thought that you would stop so low just because you were not the captain any more and I was the new captain you fixed the match'' said Ro in an accusing tone

How could his best friend, his soul brother couldn't trust him he expected atleast he would trust him but how could he think of that. He then turned towards his kiddos expecting atleast them to trust him but they didn't say anything, they stood silently watching him with accused eyes. Hurt by everyone he left the room and went to terrace to call his mahi bhai because he knew he would trust him no matter what. But he was also disappointed from his mahi bhai because he also believed the fake news and told him not to call him because he doesn't talk to traitors. All of the Indian cricketers that had retired  posted or gave interviews against him saying that he is a traitor and many others things.  

He was thinking about the happy days he spent with the new and the old team how they were a one family and they were all happy until today morning. He spent so many years with them how could they trust the news over they didn't even let him speak and just assumed things on their own.

So how was the chapter actually it's my first time writing and I know it isn't that interested but I hope it will be interesting in the next chapters and I will try update as soon as I can.
