If I had always looked for positives even in situations like this, I would have appreciated that my clothes were torn because it was more comfortable to run. I would have been happy that my lungs were on fire because it meant that I was simply alive. I would take comfort in the fact that the bruises and scratches would quickly disappear due to the fact that they were shallow. Unfortunately, today I decided to be a simple pessimist. Especially when my path was blocked by three men from whom I had been running from the beginning.
"And why are you losing your strength, little flower? You'll be ours anyway, but it's up to you how much it will hurt." His voice was getting on my nerves. If I hadn't emptied my stomach two streets ago, I would definitely be vomiting now.
"I will never give myself to you in my life, you will get me over my dead body."
"That can be done too." Their self-proclaimed leader smiled as he stepped closer. Even though my whole body ached and I had no energy left, I straightened up, balling my hands into fists. The man's strong pheromones reached my nostrils and I wrinkled my nose, grimacing.
"Do you really think you can handle us?" The other man asked, raising an eyebrow. He was blatantly making fun of me, but I didn't care as long as he didn't put his slimy hands on my body.
"And do you really think that if you are an alpha, you can do everything? I feel sorry for you, even we omegas, who are supposed to be worse, are more intelligent. If it weren't for us, you would be nothing. Do you think that who gave you up to world, huh? Do you think your mom would be proud of you now if she saw you?"
"How dare you involve my mother in all this?!" He exclaimed, obviously thrown off balance. In a few steps he was in front of me and squeezed my arm so that it would definitely leave a mark in the shape of his hand. Without thinking, I took my leg back and straightened it sharply, hitting where the sun shouldn't shine.
The man grabbed his crotch and my eyes widened as I heard loud laughter and applause. I raised my head uncertainly and mentally cursed. Really, three more to deal with one "worthless" omega? Were they that desperate? Even though I had minimal chances before, now they have definitely dropped to zero.
"What kind of men are you that you have to harass innocent people to make yourself feel better?" One of the new arrivals asked. Even though he was the shortest, I had no doubt that he was the strongest. He had an aura of self-confidence and dominance around him. Even I felt like bowing down to him and accepting his dominance.
"What's it to you? Mind your own business!" The blonde growled nervously, apparently ignoring the pain in his private place.
"This is our business since you're picking on our friend." I frowned because this was actually the first time I had seen them. Even though it looked like they weren't with the others, I had the unpleasant feeling that I had fallen into worse shit, but at the same time, the smallest part of me wanted to believe that they weren't evil. At least not enough to rape me like those here planned.
"Your friend, huh? So what's his name? And why should we care about you?"
"And why should we care about you, huh? Do you really want to spend that much effort on one omega instead of leaving and looking for an easier victim? We won't give you our friend without a fight." The pink-haired man came closer, raising one eyebrow. Surprisingly, the two withdrew, exchanging a look with each other. Apparently they had come to the same conclusion, because before I knew it they were already picking up in a direction known only to them.
"Cowards." I muttered before my legs gave way and I dropped to my knees, scraping them hard against the rocky ground.
"Hey, are you okay?" The pink haired one tried to get closer to me and I growled in warning, moving backwards. "Maybe it's better if you guys take care of it?"
"Of course." The alpha stepped back and was replaced by two men who had been silent until then. One of them was definitely an omega, the other was probably an omega too, although he smelled very much like an alpha. I grimaced, but let the shorter one take my hand. "I'm Beomgyu, this is Kai, and that one is Taehyun. I know he looks scary, but he won't hurt you. Is everything okay? Did they do something to you? Can you walk?"
"Mhm." I just muttered, nodding. Thanks to the taller omega help, I got up, but in fact, if he let me go, I would probably land on the ground again.
"We'll walk you home, okay? Or maybe to a friend?"
"It won't be necessary. I can handle it myself."
"We insist." I didn't have to be a fortune teller to know I wouldn't get rid of them that easily. Beomgyu radiated concern and sadness. Even the alpha, who seemed to be made of stone, had sympathy in his eyes. I didn't want strangers to find out the way to my house, but I also didn't want to endanger any of my friends, so I chose the safest option, a hotel.
Taehyun, Beomgyu and Kai didn't question my choice. In fact, they didn't say much and as soon as they delivered me to the hotel room, they left without giving me the opportunity to ask how I would pay for their kindness. I figured they were obviously in a hurry and didn't care much about it, figuring I wouldn't see them again anyway.
I preferred to focus on thinking about how to cover up all the injuries from today and convince my boss that I didn't want to work such late hours again, without going into details. Hongjoon was understanding, but he always asked a lot and I was a really bad liar. Fortunately, I had a dozen or so hours before our next meeting, so I decided to worry about it tomorrow, after I had some sleep.
