Her eyes start to flicker open. Finally awaking from her sleep. Slowly she started to look around, the white walls and grey desk must have alarmed her. She tried to sit up, not getting very far. She looked down and her hands and feet are strapped to the bed. Then she start to flail. Jerking her arms and feet up quickly trying to get free.

"What are you doing?!" A voice came from beside her. Her head jerks over to the side. A girl stood up from the side and walks up to the bed. "Stop jerking. It's not going to help. What's your name?" She said as she squares down next to the bed.

"Alyssa." She said hesitantly. She looked at the girl next to her as if she had lost her mind.

"Hi Alyssa." The girl got up from the floor and walked over to the door. She looked back at Alyssa on the bed and then started to bang on the door. "She's awake! She's awake!" She yelled as her hands hit the door more rapidly.

"No! What are you doing?!" Alyssa screamed and thrashed on the bed.

The door made a click sound and it slowly started to open. Two fairly large men walked in the door behind a petite woman with blonde hair in a tight bun on top of her head. "Thank you Anna for telling us. You may go to the tv room now."

She walks out of the room without a word. Her hands folded in front of her as she walked. "What's going on?" Alyssa asked in a panic. The men stepped up to her and started to undo her straps holding her down. She jerked up as if trying to run but the men grabbed her right away. They pushed her back down to the bed with force that made her shoulders ache with pain.

"No need to get up Alyssa. And no need to fight it. You've been trying that for days now. Look how far that's gotten you now." Her voice sounded so serene. Her name tag read Jane.

"What? What are you talking about? What are you doing, Jane?" Alyssa questioned squinting at the name tag.

"Well, I see your senses are all running okay. Except for your memory, I guess. It is a side effect of the drug." Jane never broke eye contact with Alyssa, not even as she reached her hand into her pocket to pull out a bottle. "You see Alyssa, you've been here for a week. You've been in and out because of these pills here. You're assigned to be taking two, but I've decided to give you one right now to see how it goes. So here you go. Open wide." She smiled so sweetly as she said this so evilly.

"No." Alyssa said shaking her head violently. "No!" She started to shake and thrash, like she was trying to burrow into the bed to get away from the pill. The men pushed down harder into the bed to steady her as Jane forced her mouth opened and shoved the pill down her throat.

"There. Now you can leave the room and wonder if you please. Don't get violent again, or you'll be right back in here." Jane said as she stood and straighten out her skirt. "Come on boys. Back to rounds." And they walked right out of the room as if this was normal.

Alyssa sat up, weirded out by what was going on. She swung her legs over the side of the bed, and slowly stood up. She turned to the door and just stared at it. She jumped as someone walked past the door. She continued to inch towards the door anyway to see what's out there. She followed the person who walked pass her door. She slowly turned the corner to a tv showing room with about two dozen people in it.

Anna then approached Alyssa very slowly and unsure like. "H-hi."

"What do you want?" Alyssa spurted out in a hasty way.

"I w-wanted to a-apologize for e-earlier." Anna said looking down at her sock covered feet.

"How long have I been here?" Alyssa blurted out as soon as Anna quit speaking.

"A w-week." Anna stuttered.

"Why do you keep stuttering? Stop that." Alyssa said quickly while cocking her head to the side.

"I-I'm sorry." Anna apologized without looking up from her feet.

"What ever. Why did you tell them I was awake? Why didn't you help me?" Alyssa took a step closer to Anna.

Anna took a step back. "T-they told me too t-tell them when you w-wake up." She looked up from her feet. "Come with me." Anna then turned around and started to walk away.

Alyssa's face showed her confusion of what just happened. But she followed anyway. Each step hesitant. She followed Anna out of the tv room where everyone else is past a few windows. It was night time. "I slept through the day?"

Anna stopped and turned around and hastily shushed her. She turned around and kept walking and then turned a corner, out of sight. Alyssa picked up her pace to catch up but stopped before the corner. She went to take a step and took it back, then finally took the step around the corner.

Alyssa gasped and jerked her hands stomach. A syringe stuck out of her stomach, she fell to knees in pain. Anna bent down and pulled the syringe out of Alyssa's stomach. It had blood half way up the glass part of the syringe.

"When Mr. Lane brought you in," Anna paused squatting down next to Alyssa laying on the ground. "he decided to catch me up on his life. Because his daughter was my best friend. He told me she died. You killed her. You killed my best friend." She was whispering but yelling at the same time.

"No. No. I didn't kill her. I didn't kill Janie. I promise." Alyssa squeaked while slowly trying to inch away.

"I didn't even say her name." Anna said looking down at the syringe and pulled the plunger up. In a quick moment she moved like lightning. She jabbed the syringe into Alyssa's neck and put her thumb on top of it. "You lied to me. I don't like liars." Then Anna pushed the plunger down, releasing oxygen in Alyssa's veins. "There Janie." She looks over to her right. "I did it for you. Now you can stay here forever, with me."
