In the kingdom of Eldoria, a place of magic and tradition, two figures both of nobel status find their lives unexpectedly entangled. One, a royal heir, next in line to inherit the throne, burdened by the weight of future leadership and the expectations placed upon him, tied to the rules that he had been born and bred into. The other, a powerful sorcerer from a small village, whose abilities are both praised and feared across the land, with strong morals and an even stronger wish to just be herself.

They meet when he introduces himself to her at a banquet for the stars, her appearance had been altered to look more "witch-like": green eyes, black hair, a pointed hat, and scholar robes that were all black. The one thing she had refused to remove or cover was a golden locket, a gift from her siblings on the last birthday they had with her before passing. He on the other hand wore things that made him look more kingly: a crown, a suit with silver accents, a ring his father had given him, and black dress shoes. He approached her after watching as she acted so unforgivingly human, despite the council's constant reminders that she was meant to seem mysterious and all knowing.

He found her bright personality amusing, the stark contrast to the character he had been described when told about the girl. He was told she was mean, wicked, and that men often went missing after being seen with her, which was hard to believe considering she was currently politely crouched to listen to a talkative childs stories. Her expression was kind as she listened, nodding along and asking questions to encourage the child to continue. It was strange to see someone so genuinely expressive in such a setting, someone so warm despite their appearance being made to look cruel and cold. He stood beside her waiting for the child to finish and leave before facing her and attempting to start a conversation, immediately interrupted by the council reminding her of her role.

They ushered her up and into a small black throne to keep her from talking to anyone, especially children in order to keep up the persona of a fairytale witch- mean, vile, and ugly. The prince didn't find her appearance appalling, despite the layers of makeup that had been added to her face to add wrinkles and a mole or the way they purposefully knotted her hair, he could still tell through the façade that she was breathtakingly beautiful especially when she smiled. Even if it had been her true appearance the prince decided he would have no qualms with it because she was kind and nurturing. The prince had never believed the stories of perfect people or falling in love without even speaking to a person first and yet he suddenly found himself believing both as he watched her.

Since she could no longer talk to the children she was now using her magic to put on a small show for them bending water and light into different shapes and figures. He chuckled as he watched the council run around and panic at the show but frowned when they added new bangles to her attire that seemed to block her magic. Once the council was distracted with other things he approached her, schooling his features into one to match his current assigned role. She gave him a friendly smile despite her own supposed role and he couldn't help but return the gesture before toning it down to a smirk. He gave a small bow before introducing himself "I am Prince Rayven Nyx of Eldoria" he said it proudly raising his chin a bit. She continued to smile and her eyes shimmered gold for a second "I'm Amora Paloma'' she responded.

His heart picked up as he stared intensely in her eyes hoping to catch the shimmer again. The prince found himself enthralled by her voice though he supposed everything about her intrigued him he wasn't quite sure why. He decided to ask if it was a spell but made sure to keep it classy and unaccusing "You seem quite the enchantress, haven't been hexing anyone have you" he used a joking tone to keep the mood light, he didn't want her to hate him after their first meeting especially since he had a weird compulsion to be near her. "I assure you I've done no such thing. Though the council has made it tempting." She replies with a smile.
