It was finally leaf-bare, and the younger cats were excited for snow. Kits were dancing around and burying the apprentices in snow, while the leader and deputy were sending out hunting parties, border patrol, herb collecting, and an observation group. They were also deciding who wanted to mentor Gizmo. Now, I don't know if I've said enough about Gizmo yet, but if you haven't noticed, Gizmo is.. a bit too confident. Sometimes, he over estimates himself. No one really.. wanted him, I guess?
"Alright, now that we have patrols set up, who would like to mentor Gizmo?" BerryStar looked at the warriors, some were slightly shivering as brisk air hit their pelts. "Oh please, is it really that cold? The kits are just fine!"
PoppyHeart glanced at the warriors before whispering to BerryStar. "Uhm, BerryStar, I think they're shivering because they're scared of.. that." PoppyHeart looked at Gizmo, who was jumping up and down and chasing his tail.
BerryStar sighed. "I'm not gonna ask again. Who wants to mentor Gizmo?"
Still no answer.
"Fine then. Gizmo, you don't have a mentor yet, but you will sooner or later. For now, just.. watch other apprentices train with their mentors." BerryStar looked over all the cats, not one of them seemed like they even liked Gizmo. "Clan dismissed."
Gizmo was VERY confused. He was great! "Hey, I'm great! Why wouldn't one of you guys wanna mentor me? You guys are warriors, you're meant to be brave so-" He was so rudely interrupted when Crying River padded up to him.
"C'mon, I'll bring you to the apprentice den and help you make a nest!" River smiled. But, despite his act of kindness, Gizmo swatted at him.
Gizmo scoffed. "I don't need your help! I'm fine on my own, go back to letting the kits bury you in the snow!" Gizmo rolled his eyes and padded away.

Later that night, everyone was asleep except Future and Gizmo. Both of them were sneaking out of camp, just from a different direction.
(GIZMO)
"Ugh, stupid, stupid warriors.. I'm awesome, they all should've stepped up to mentor me!" Gizmo muttered to himself. Suddenly, he heard rustling from a tree. He sniffed the air, trying to figure out who or what it was. A fluffy yellow she-cat with stripes and a brown tail sat on a branch. She looked like she's only been a warrior for a few moons. "Huh? Who are you? What are you doing on SugarClan territory?!" Gizmo yowled defensively.
The she-cat let out a mrrow of amusement. "Don't worry, dear. I won't hurt you. I'm a rogue, my name is GildedHeart, but you can call me Gild," Gild paused for a second, taking in Gizmo's appearance, "What's your name, dear?"
Gizmo was slightly shocked, but also super duper happy. "Uh, I'm Gizmo. You're um, you're pelt is very pretty.." Gizmo cleared his throat. "Ahm... why are you here?"
A purr rumbled in Gild's throat. "I was hunting for prey. I'm not trying to be offensive or anything, but your borders are very poorly marked and snow was covering most of it up."
"Oh, well, can I hunt with you? I heard it's not safe to hunt alone in the snow.." Gizmo was bored, so it made sense that he was trying to hunt with a stranger that he met less than 3 minutes ago.
"Sure, Gizmo! How about you re-mark some of the borders first, though."
Gizmo smiled. "Alright!"
