Two weeks later, the Flick family were at the airport, ready to board their plane. The farewell from Cornelia and Jamal, who had insisted on accompanying them to say goodbye, was accompanied by a few tears.

It wasn't a long flight to Barcelona. The brunette was so excited that it was impossible for her to fall asleep. But she was also anxious.

What if he recognized her?

That was the question of the day. For days now. She'd had this little lump in her stomach ever since her conversation with Jamal about the Portuguese player. She thought back to that night quite a few times. On the face of it, there was nothing wrong with it. But she was so pissed off at having been taken in by that idiot. Looking back, she never thought she'd see him again. And seeing him play for Barcelona, her favorite team, didn't help to erase her memory of him.

Had he thought about her again?

After all, he knew she loved the Barcelona team. They'd spent three months almost every day together, even if they didn't like each other, they'd gotten to know each other through each other.

"Cornelia?"

She was brought out of her thoughts by her father, signaling that they had landed.

"Hey João, shoot!"

The FC Barcelona players were warming up and playing together for their training session of the day. Xavi was still there. He was keen to welcome Hans and have a chat with him.

After some thought, the team had decided to keep João Cancelo and João Felix. Flick was very confident about keeping them for another season.

Felix couldn't believe it, he could already see himself returning to Madrid and being ejected elsewhere. He knew he had to give it his all if he was to have any chance of continuing at the club he had dreamed of all his life.

"Does anyone know when the new coach is arriving?" asked Fermin, stretching his legs.

Pedri shrugged in response.

"Hey Marc, you know the new coach pretty well, don't you?"

The goalkeeper turned back to number 6 with a smile.

"Of course, he's quite a different character to Xavi, but I'm sure you'll like him. He's got a great competitive spirit, a bit like you Pablo."

The others around him laughed. The dark-haired man laughed with his team-mates and passed the ball back to João. The Portuguese was a little over the moon. He had to take this season very seriously to have a chance of staying with his teammates.

It's true that he's let his personal life get in the way of his game in the past. His love life was a disaster on every level, and all his affairs with Magui had given a rather humiliating image of the player who "liked to hurt himself and be taken for a fucking idiot". Those were the headlines most often heard on social networks.
