Naven sat beside her bed, holding her hands with a stream of tears out of his eyes. "I'm sorry Sage. I didn't know... I'm so sorry." He buried his head into the blanket. "It doesn't matter if you know or not." Naven looked at Sage that was smiling weakly. Her lips went white and chapped. Naven shook his head, "no, no, no. Only if I knew, I wouldn't joke around like that. I wouldn't..."
Naven words was cut when Sage hushed him. "It's not your fault. I've always been like this. Even before we met. I had my post-trauma. So, you're not the one to blame." Naven's cried a river, his heart was pumping rapidly as if it was going to explode. He felt some kind of painful pressure in his chest and thought, 'is this what pressure like? It's hurt and no! I couldn't imagine how hurt she must have been. Why?! I keep being stupid!'
Sage reached her hand and slowly caressed his face softly. He could feel the cold in her hand. "I'm sorry for keeping this. I just didn't want to worry you. I don't know if it can be cured because it's... It's hard. It's killing me slowly, from inside. I just..." Naven stopped her from talking by shaking his head.
"No, no. You're going to be fine. You will. I assure you, and I... Will always be there in every steps. It's you and me, together. I'm sorry." Naven brought her into his embrace and she exploded with tears. He gently caressed her back, "it's okay. Just let it out on me. This is the least I can do to punish myself. Remember, I will always be there with you after this."
An hour goes by when Sage was finally calm down. She laid down on the bed with puffy eyes. Naven smiled softly and said, "okay, you have some rest tonight. Sleep well. Tomorrow, it will be a new chapter." Sage sniffled and ask a question before closing her eyes. "Do you really think I look dull in the dress?" Naven was taken aback. He did not expect that question from her. He just chuckled and replied, "you sleep first. I'll tell you tomorrow, okay?"
Sage's eyes turned dim and nodded. Naven slept on the couch near Sage's bed. He was excited for tomorrow to come. But, little did he knows, that was the last night he will be with her.
