"Any luck?" Jennie slumps beside Jieun five days later, small palms cupping her cheeks as she balances her elbows over the countertop, peeking up at the older woman through her lashes.
Jieun is immediately blinded by those bright, pretty eyes, having to look away for a second so she doesn't lose sight of the matter at hand. Lord, we must stay focused, sisters. We must stay focused.
Jennie has no right to look this adorable. She doesn't have to be such a puffy little pastry, overflowing with too much sweet jam and fluffy cream. Jieun wouldn't mind taking a bite, as long as Jennie lets her, that is.
Life has become harder for Jieun ever since she realized she prefers both men and women. She's trying to adjust to the new life, guys. Give her a break.
"I'm still looking." She instead sighs out, looking back at the laptop screen placed over the counter in front of her.
Jennie hums, swinging her legs in the chair all in her fluffy shorts and cute white top. It's a new set, Jieun noticed. She remembers the young girl telling her about Yeri dropping off her yearly alliance of peace when she visited a week ago. Jennie has been busy tailoring and thrifting them into her designs and sizes. Jieun is just glad it has kept her mind off of things.
"Since you know everyone and their mothers, shouldn't they be of any help?" Jinnie suggests absentmindedly, blowing raspberries into the air as she swings her body from left to right.
Jieun grins watching her. There is not a single thought in that head. "Good idea." She nods, leaning in and stamping a big smooch on the younger's cheek.
She has attended enough balls and gatherings with her parents to associate herself with a lifetime of rich people. She knows a few of them who will be eager to help, especially if they want to stay on good terms with her father. Jieun almost wants to scoff. If only they knew her parents no longer supported her with any of her life decisions after she chose to leave everything behind to stand on her own feet.
She looks over at Jennie. It's almost comical when she thinks about this. Both of them come from money, the only difference is Jennie runs from her birthright and her uncle continues to spoil her father's business. While Jieun refuses to go back to that suffocating life where there is no excitement and career.
