2. Hallway bumps + A few talks = ?

The test had just finished a while ago. Twilight sat impatiently, waiting for her test results. She knew she passed, there was no doubt, but being able to discuss test results to Sunset would be the perfect plan to invite her somewhere.

Her mind rushed to the memories from before. Many times it would have been a perfect confession, had she not been so nervous... Coming up with multiple solutions and possibilities, it was endless. One stood out, "What if she doesn't feel the same?.. "

"Twilight Sparkle, you got a perfect score." Mr.Doodle announced, her conscious went back to reality. This wasn't new to her, however she was listening for the exact words of... "Sunset Shimmer, you also got a full score. Congrats." 'Bingo.' What she needed to do next was meet up with the other girl. After Mr.Doodle telling the students their results, Twilight began making mental notes. How would she ask Sunset to go somewhere with her? Should she be casual or somewhat flirty? When did she plan to ask her?

The bell rang, instinctively she packed her stuff and left the classroom in a rush. On her way to her locker, she bumped into Flash Sentry. "Woah! Sorry, didn't see you there Twilight." His arm nervously wrapped around his neck, Twilight knew about his and Princess Twilight's romance. In fact, for the first few times at CHS, he would mix her for the princess. "It's okay, I should have probably been paying attention.." She brushed off her skirt, her time had been somewhat wasted with the accident. Turning around, she quickly waved to the guitarist and walked away.

This time she was more careful, bumping into another person was one thing. However there was a certain someone who would make her freeze if she bumped into. Sunset stood right in front of her, lately Twilight would leave classes quickly to avoid the firey girl. Her locker was just a walk away, with the last bump she had been slowed down. "Oh, hey Twilight! I was going to try thank you in class but I didn't get the chance to.. But thank you so much for reviewing with me, don't know what I'd do with out ya." It felt like her heart stopped right then and there.

"Haha,, it was nothing really!!.. Just happy to help a friend!" Sweat was practically visible at this rate, was it really that hard to conversate? "I was uhm, wondering.. if you wanted to hangout after school today..!" Her cheesy smile felt so artificial."Darn it Twilight.. was that really all you got?.."

"Hm, well I definitely don't have a shift today.. So yeah, why not?? Whatcha got in mind?" Sunset grinned, Twilight felt as if she would have melted right then and there. "Well, I thought that you should decide what we do!! My treat since I did drag you out early in the morning.." Her arm holding the other nervously.

If Twilight didn't know any better she would have completely collapsed. Sunset looked brighter than the sun, even that wasn't enough to describe it. "Wow, you really didn't have too... We could go watch a movie together!! I've been dying to watch 'Discord's Return', I've heard it's really good!!"

Twilight's face froze. "Isn't that a horror movie?.." Her eyes shifted between the floor and Sunset, "Yeah!.. Is uhm is 6pm good?.." Sunset nodded showing approval. "Great!! Okay we can uh plan this out more during lunch!! If not just text me or something!.."

The bell rung, passing period was over. "Well, we gotta go now Twi. See you at lunch!!" said Sunset waving as she walked away to her next class. The scientist immediately ran to her locker to switch out the textbooks she had, time felt like it was passing quickly. Twilight was hoping the late bell wouldn't ring before she got to her class.

After another two classes, the lunch bell finally rang. Twilight was putting away her materials when someone approached her. To her surprise it was Applejack, the country girl who always seemed to know if something was bothering Twilight. "Hey sugarcube cube, Ah was wondering how you were holding up. You okay? You've been very tense lately.." She asked, Twilight had to think fast. Was she going to be honest or make up some lame excuse on the spot?

"Oh... Hi Applejack, I'm okay but I could definitely be better. It's just that... This might be pretty broad, but I have feelings for Sunset. I always get so nervous around her it drives me crazy. I've even been avoiding her during classes and such! I'm surprised I was even able to study with her. I don't have a clue on what to do." Of course the truth came out, 'Does honesty rub off of her and onto others when she's talking to them...' She thought, mentally face palming herself.

The country girl placed a hand on the nerd's shoulder, "Ah think you need to calm down Twilight, what you need is to relax. Just take a deep breath, and let it all out... Everything will turn out fine sugarcube. If anything you can always be honest to her, you're an amazing girl Twilight. Even Sunset herself would agree. Now come on, lets head to lunch." Both girls got up, leaving their classroom. A bit of walking in the halls, Twilight's attention went to Applejack.

"Thank you Applejack... I really appreciate you helping me, always. I'm glad to have a friend I can always be honest with." She leaned into a side hug, which the farmer accepted. "Awh shucks Twi, just know I'll always be here to help. Let's get moving, the girls are going to get impatient if we keep them waiting, especially Rarity..." Twilight nodded and they continued walking to the cafeteria.

Lunch was always great in Twilight's opinion, being around all her friends was always fun. But now more than ever, she found it was easier to talk to Sunset than when they were alone. As they approached the table, Rarity welcomed them. "Darlings there you are. The lunch bell rang ages ago. What took you both so long?"

'That's one way to say "Hey guys, how are you."'  Twilight simply rolled her eyes. Applejack huffed, "Rares we aren't even that late. Twilight and Ah just spent a little bit after class to catch up." She looked to the rest of the girls, "How are y'all? Anything new or exciting?" Pinkie Pie practically sprung up, "OH ME ME ME!!" she said while raising her hand in the air.

Twilight didn't listen to what she said afterwards, Rarity did join that conversation at some point. That's when it started, Rainbow Dash was saying how the test was so hard. 'It wasn't THAT hard, just simple math really..' But, she couldn't even get a word out. Applejack and RD started having a silly debate. Facing defeat, she turned to Sunset. "Sooo, I was thinking of getting dinner before the movie, that way we won't get hungry during the movie! Should I stop at your house or would you go to mine? Or maybe just meet where we'll get dinner!!"

"Well, I can stop by your house and pick you up there. Plus we can just stop by some restaurant or fast food, get something to eat and head to the movies!! But you're picking what we eat, you already let me pick the movie." Sunset argued, Twilight blushed with mixed emotions.. She felt butterflies, yet slightly embarrassed. "Fine, but everything else is on me, including the theater snacks" She huffed. Sunset simply smiled and nodded.

"Look AJ, I'm just saying that the test in math was BAD." Rainbow Dash stated, her arms were crossed. 'All this is just about the test?..' Twilight couldn't help but wonder. "Look Rainbow, if ya wanna get better at math then you need to work for it." Applejack claimed against the athlete. "Rainbow, you should have asked me or even Twilight for help, BEFORE school. Not 15 minutes before the test.." Sunset joined in.

Twilight was stunned, did Rainbow ask Sunset for help? What even Happened? She didn't know, but to stay out of it she just looked at Rarity and Fluttershy. 'Even they look confused..' Her mouth opened to speak, but was quickly silenced. Pinkie was nowhere to be seen, yet Twilight was left with the sudden taste of strawberry cake with honey?
