The only thing dragging me back to my dorm room is the sound of a cello.
The music sways and spins, builds and falls. It is pure bliss.
It's the only thing that makes me pull out my viola and step onto the balcony, my tune joining hers in a triumphant climax.
Oh, how I miss the old days...
We play, molding the music into our own tune. A tune of sadness, of love, of heartbreak, and of joy.
The music sweeps through the courtyard, my viola matching her cello's tune in a perfect harmony.
I am with peace. I am with love. I am joined together with sadness and despair.
I can feel everything, yet I still feel nothing.
I break off of her sound, making one of my own, making one of expectations and happiness that then soon falls to a darker sound of the shadows and strength.
Her sound falls away as mine increases, my heart and life being poured into the tales I spin into my music.
How I met them. How I lived. How I loved. How they fell from me.
I end it with a unsatisfying note, the sound echoing eerily through the halls of Nevermore.
My breath whooshes from me and I barley have enough time to move my viola out of the way as practically get tackled into a hug.
"Oh, Y/n..." Enid burrows her face into my chest, "You played." Her eyes glimmer with unshed tears as she looks up at me.
"It's okay, little pup." I sigh, sending a glance over to Wednesday who's staring at me, almost slack jawed. "It just took me time. And a little help."
"You...play." Wednesday tilts her head. "But, it was different. How?"
"I don't know."

Short baby chapter as a small filler for you guys. It's summer now for me so I will be writing more but I don't really know how to expand on this part because I have never touched a viola or cello in my life. Drink water and sleep, my little sinners. ily<3
