•.↳ Part 3 of the chapter "They Take You", in which the villains take you with them •.
(A/N): It feels so relieving to finally publish this chapter after everything that has been going on in my personal life! I hope I didn't make you guys wait for too long, but as they say, haste makes waste XD but anyway, I really need you guys to make it to the end of this chapter! We'll have something like a little poll to decide the theme for the next chapters, as well as some announcements about the new catch up chapter and thanks to some special readers who have helped me with ideas and suggestions.
WARNINGS: mentions of domestic violence, inappropriate language, stalking and abduction/kidnapping themes, violence in general, mentions of/and implied murder, angst, similarity of conolization (latinos beware???), grieving/funerals and triggering subjects as usual.
No beta, we die like Cruella when she psychotically blew herself up 💥•.↳ MOTHER GOTHEL •.
"Are you sure this is the right path?" (M/N) questioned in skepticism, earning an exasperated laugh in response.
"Of course it is, silly!" Gothel warned her in a snarky threat disguised as sympathy. "I am the host of the guesthouse, after all. Is there anyone else you would rather be guided by?"
The three of them had been tracing a seemingly endless path through the dark forest for about ten minutes now, both of your parents following after the elderly woman's lead while your father was left in charge of leading the horses as your mother still held you tightly in her trembling arms. While her husband trusted that woman so blindly, (M/N) still remained reluctant about the general idea, finding the woman's behavior to be rather strange, suspicious even. Unfortunately, (F/N) shut her down many times by telling her she was being dramatic, however, she still thought she had every right to be distrustful of Gothel's intentions, after all the lady gave her quite a few reasons to be wary of, one of them being the contradictions in her narrative.
At first glance, Gothel was nothing more than a helpless little old lady in the woods that just wanted to help them out, but as time went by, she shifted into something more, something that was no longer that helpless little old lady. (M/N) couldn't quite place her finger on it, but something about that woman felt off... extremely off... but it was subtle, as vague as the feeling you get when it is about to rain, almost unexplainable. You couldn't name it if you wanted to, but (M/N) knew it had to do with her instincts for she felt as if she was being led into disaster.
"You can't judge a book by it's cover" is something everybody has already heard at least a dozen times before. (M/N) was tired of hearing it.
While it is true, your mother still betrayed her knowledge of common etiquette and silently cursed herself for going against such a popular saying. Hpwever, if she had to be honest, she thought it was complete bullshit - not the phrase's actual meaning, no, but the way people would use it to get others less wary of creeps, even excusing their strange behavior when it is finally called out, regardless of appearance or nuance.
To summarize it, (M/N) was admittedly judging Gothel, but not for her appearance, instead for the ominous vibe she so strongly radiated; the feeling of impending doom your mother felt while solely looking at that woman was enough to make her clutch you to her chest as protectively as she could. It was sinister.
