Awestruck pt 8

Toothless P. O. V

I felt the soft cold easing on my scales and discerned a new sunny morning was on its way so I woke up with the lightning squirrel's tail still keeping more warm, Raijin's head against mine. "Raijin, you awake?" I asked and I heard him groan pulling me in. "G-give me 5 more minutes" he said through a yawn and I chuckled at him. "Come on we have to hurry Cayun's going to kick our butts for being so late to training" I said chuckling and he groans getting up and he crouched down so I can climb on his back.

"Does it really affect you when I get on your back?" I asked curiously as I held on and he smiled at my question. "Nope you're super light!" He said softly and he backs up from the edge...but it was like he wasn't backing up to leave, more like trying to get a running start and I go wide eyed. "Hey toothless I know Cayun said you can't fly because you could risk getting spotted but honestly I don't think it's fair for you to lose that feeling of being in the air" He said, and I would smile if I wasn't already filled with worry.

"Raijin stop! I can fly when I'm back home, I know you're strong but a fall from this height could disable you!!" I shouted filled with fear and he just smiled at me before immediately sprinting towards the edge and I cling onto him as he jumps and we plummet towards the ground. "NO RAIJIN!" I shout desperately flapping my wings to try and fly with him but he's too heavy and he chuckles but I was too scared to care.

"ITS FINE TOOTHY!" He shouts and I tear up flapping my wings faster gritting my teeth then suddenly I feel his back push against me and my wings go slack from exhaustion.  I feel the wind on my face ease up as I stare at Raijin's back in confusion. "Wh-what?" I said looking to my right and saw some of his skin stretching from his wrist  to his Himd legs. "Y-you can fly?" I asked and he chuckled at my reaction and I looked at him surprised before smiling. "YOU CAN FLY?!! OH THATS SO.....YOU JERK!!!" I said swatting the back of his head. My demeanor returning to frustrated remembering the scare this freaking shock squirrel gave me. "Ow hahaha sorry toothy....hey look to your right" he said and I raised an eyebrow in curiosity before looking to my right.

"Oh my Odin......" I spoke seeing the sunrise as we cruised over the ancient forest the light waking the many different beasts below us. I felt that same sense of peace and freedom once more as we soared. "Do you like it?" He asked and I turned down to him and smiled. "Yeah.....it's nice"  I spoke and he glided down and landed on a field full of what Raijin calls Aptonoths. "Morning" we heard as I hopped off Raijin and turned to see Cayun and a large red dragon with black tipped scales and the dragon yawns while standing next to the hunter.

"Thanks for helping me with this Mr.Ripley" Cayun said and my ears perked up and I smiled. "Oh you're Mr.Ripley? Thank you for letting me and Raijin spend the night at your nest I hope we didn't cause any problems with us staying there" I said and he looked down at me surprised and smiled warmly. "It's fine missy! Me and my wife were happy to let you use the nest! We needed to get out more anyway" he said his voice sounded like stoic but.....50x older. "Oh um sir I'm a boy" I reminded him and he goes wide eyed. "Oh my I'm sorry" he said and I chuckled kinda used to it at this point. "Alright now that you've introduced yourselves there shouldn't be any hard feelings after" Cayun spoke and I looked at him confused. Forcing him to explain "oh sorry, toothless Meet your sparring partner Aegis Ripley"

No one P. O. V

"WELCOME BACK LOVELY CROWD AND FIGHTERS!!" The ref shouts seeing the flourishing audience back for the final two matches with Carmine standing next to Ian patting his head. "I hope Mr.Cadaver beats him until he shits himse-language" Carmine interrupted Ian and he looks up at her with an apologetic look. "Sorry Mrs.Carmine" The boy spoke and she smiled down at him patting his head looking into the arena.
