𝐎𝐧𝐞 𝐏𝐢𝐞𝐜𝐞 𝐑𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐞𝐫 𝐈𝐧𝐬𝐞𝐫𝐭𝐬

𝐄𝐦𝐛𝐫𝐚𝐜𝐞𝐝 𝐛𝐲 𝐒𝐮𝐧𝐬𝐞𝐭 || Luffy

in which you and Luffy lay, cuddled in each other's arms, watching the sunset from atop the figurehead of the Thousand Sunny.

Luffy's ears perk up at the soft yawn that sounds from above him and he feels a soft body shift against his back. His gaze leaves the warm glow of the sunset cast against the murky blue waters to peer up at you, the image of you wearing his hat, burning into his eyes—a sight he never gets tired of seeing.

"Sleepy already?"

You wipe away the stray tear that leaves your eye, tipping your head to peer down at Luffy cuddled against your chest. "I think I can last a few more minutes," you say, a tender smile playing on your lips.

He gives you a blank look in response making you arch a confused brow.

"Why are you looking at me like that?"

His lips momentarily stretches into his usual wide smile. "Let's switch!" He suddenly blurts out, and in the next instance, you find yourself settled between Luffy's legs, back plastered against his firm chest as his arms hug you closer to him, and a thick blanket thrown over your form.

You don't complain about the new position, preferring it this way. And allow yourself to relish in the soothing comfort his warm body invites.

"This feels nice." You hum pleasingly, eyes drawn towards the setting sun, feeling yourself being lulled  to sleep by the gentle melody of waves rolling along the waters, lashing softly against the hull of the ship and from the cool wind that caresses your skin.

Your eyelids grow heavy...your eyes flutter close.

A few minutes flicker past with you cocooned in Luffy's warmth and him in yours; and you blink your eyes open, eased out of sleep, when you feel a gentle weight settle on your shoulder and a light brush of something ticklish against your cheek accompanied by soft snores filling your ears.

Your lips pull into a small smile when you catch a glimpse of Luffy's sleeping face from your periphery.

You snuggle closer to him. "Night, Luffy," you whisper, your eyes fluttering close once again as you allow yourself to drift off into sleep's sweet embrace.
