The two friends then entered the dining hall. There rested a table filled with fresh foods. Turkey's, fruits and vegetables of each kind. Behind the table sat Alexander, Versa, and Penny (who sat on the opposite side) awaiting for the rest of the family. Nalander took a quick whiff, as it smelled exactly as he imagined. The king quickly notices Christopher, who stood by Nalander's side when they arrived.
"Son, explain to me, why your friend is here..." Alexander coaxed.
"Honey...any friend of Nalander's is a friend of ours" the queen chimed in, placing her had on her husbands wrist, insisting that he relaxes.
"I understand but it is strictly said that..." the king whined.
"Ah...he's almost family" she interrupted.
"Thank you mother" Nalander thanked, sitting down at the seat next to Penny.
"Yes, thank you your Majesty" Christopher said, also taking a seat, one being right beside Nalander. The young prince the acknowledges Penny, who is sitting quietly, with both her hands resting in her lap. All plates at the table remained empty, as they waited for Eric to arrive. There was a long silence that filled the room, as every member sitting just wanted to eat. After more moments of silence, Eric, along with the maiden that he danced with entered.
"Sorry I'm late, but there's someone I want you to meet" Eric projects. After this said statement, Nalander and Christopher make immediate eye contact. Christopher looked at the young price with a questionable look on his face. It's almost like the two where communicating with their eyes.

"This is Jessica, my girlfriend" Eric announces. Knowing that this could be risky, Eric used that title anyways, knowing what he had planned ahead. Nalander then glances at Penny, whose eyes have met the floor like they normally do. She started to shake her leg anxiously, as she was not aware of the relationship between her brother and this unknow maiden. Sure, Eric has been with women before, but none of them have been involved in family gatherings, yet alone a family dinner. Was she jealous ? Possibly jealous that someone could take the protection of her big brother away from her ? Gently placing his thumb on her thighs, Nalander whispers "You alright". She nods her head in response, but yet is still looking at the ground. To avoid any sign that she was uncomfortable, Penny quickly looked up and smiled at the Jessica, and the right back down to the ground. She then uses both of her hands to fiddle with the ruffles of her gown. The thought of her brother not sharing important news like this startled her.
"It's nice to meet you...you are very beautiful" Versa says gently. The queens dimples deepened as she smiled at the young lady.
Eric quickly pulls up a chair for Jessica, and led her to sit down. He then sits beside her, across from Penny. He notices her discomfort, but didn't bring any attention to it, as this was normal, well in his mind it was.
"Thank you, and thanks for having me my your majesty" Jessica replies as she sits. " You two look lovely, as always." The queen nods as a form of a thank you. Staring at the roast in front of them, Christopher sticks a fork inside of the roast, preparing himself to feast, After he does so, Nalander proceeds to do the same, and as time passed, everyone sitting was feasting. About and half an hour passes, and the king decides to spark conversation the Eric and his new mate.
"So tell me" he says "How did you and Eric become acquainted"
"Well..." Jessica replies, covering her mouth, avoiding the sight of the food she was chewing. "He came by my father cottage one afternoon, collecting tax, and my father didn't have the money, so he gave us an extension. I then came to thank him because father's too sick to really move and talk, and it's like when I looked into his eyes, I couldn't resist"
