Percy's pov:
I checked the car for the last time as they took all the bodies to the hospital for post-mortem. Finally, I took a deep breath and noticed Mr. Caleb talking to someone. I approached him, and he immediately came forward to speak to me.
"Sir, there were four dead bodies. Two of them were a woman and a little girl, and the other two were men," I said succinctly.
Mr. Caleb looked a little disturbed, but his expression soon turned stoic. "I see. Where's Felix?" he asked with a serious expression.
I flinched and looked really scared as I responded immediately, "I'll ask him to call you himself." I gave an awkward smile, watching his angry expression. He nodded and left without saying much.
I took my phone out and immediately called Felix. It took him ten minutes to pick up my fourth call. As always, he's a busy person. He finally answered, and before he could say a word, I burst into my rant.
"Yo, bro! Where are you? Where is the girl? What's going on exactly? Why haven't you told Officer Caleb anything yet? Inform him before he kills—" He cut me off and muttered, "Percy... I need some alone time, so I will contact you and Mr. Caleb later."
He sounded a little down, not his usual self. I understood right away and suggested he take some rest. We both hung up, and I got into the car to go back to the main office.
"What a way to end the day, huh..." I mumbled under my breath and started to drive.

Felix's pov:
I put the phone down and looked at the girl who was apparently unconscious. It had been four hours since she passed out, and she still hadn't regained consciousness. I was a little worried, but my thoughts were drifting elsewhere. I had seen her somewhere before, but I couldn't remember where. It must have been years ago. Her name... I had heard her name too. But that wasn't important right now.
I sighed and looked at the notebook I was writing in a few minutes ago. I had written down everything that happened today. Someone had suggested I do this since it would be helpful for my profession.
"What should I do now..." I leaned back in my chair and stared at the ceiling.

The night ended with me battling my thoughts. As soon as dawn broke through my window, I felt the sunray beaming on my face. I found myself sleeping at my table. I ran my fingers through my hair and suddenly noticed that the girl wasn't there anymore. I stood up immediately, feeling stupid for letting my guard down. I ran downstairs and found her sneaking into my fridge like a cat.
"What are you doing? I thought I lost you once again..." I said without thinking much. She was holding a loaf of bread and glanced at me nervously.
"Once again...?" she mumbled, her cheeks flushing with embarrassment. "I was just hungry." She acted like a normal girl, as if nothing had happened.
I sighed, feeling a little relieved. I narrowed my eyes as she smiled nervously. "You nearly gave me a heart attack. If you were hungry, you should have woken me up." My voice was low and calm, but I was trying not to laugh at her attempt to steal food from the person who had just saved her. She nodded, and I gestured for her to sit down.
"I have to take it slowly and find details about her first," I thought to myself before glancing at her. She was sitting quietly and looking out the window.
I know it's going a little slow but in the future i promise it'll be fun to read.
Thank you so much for reading<3
