I chuckled upon seeing her frustrated reaction, but soon my expression changed to stoic. Selena gave a little grin before stating in a light voice, "Well, I usually spend my time writing songs and listening to music. That's something I love to do. And how about you, sir?"
I was impressed by her hobby, and my lips quivered into a smile. "Felix..." I said with a little frown on my face, "Call me that."

"Oh, alright!" Selena replied with a graceful smile on her face.
I hesitated a little as I stated, "I am into thriller books... I have read a lot of them, and I have a full collection as well—"
I trailed off as Selena enthusiastically spoke up, "Oh my!! That's a great hobby. In fact, I have seen your collection, and they all seem to be really suspenseful books."
As she stopped talking and looked at me with a huge grin on her face, I realized what she had been doing all day while I was gone. I sighed and thought, "maybe this conversation wasn't a good idea after all."

"Well, I see..." i trailed off before continuing
"I have always been fascinated by the macabre.  Don't you find it spooky?" My gaze flickered to her, gauging her reaction.
Selena looked a little taken aback but soon shook her head in disagreement, "Not spooky." Her voice holding a note of conviction.
"I think it's really intriguing,in fact" she said, her voice sounding genuinely sincere.
"I don't think you would find it interesting anymore after I started to say the creepy incidents that have happened to me," I said sarcastically, my gaze slowly drifting towards the window.

Selena didn't utter a word and waited for me to continue. I didn't want to continue the conversation, but I needed to gain her trust.
We have met before, but I have never told her anything about myself. What's the point... even if I had, she'd have forgotten the whole thing anyway.
As I was fighting with my thoughts, I suddenly snapped out of it and nodded. I gulped and looked down, my fingers interlaced nervously.
"Since childhood, many people have found me a little odd. As a matter of fact, I was an outcast. Although that didn't bother me much, my parents sure were worried about me." I stopped and reclined, covering my eyes with my arms.

Selena looked either amazed or unease by my statement. I peeked through my fingers just to see her widened eyes scanning my face. I lifted my arms and raised an eyebrow. "What?" I asked, sounding a little annoyed.
She jolted, a flush appearing on her face. "It's just..." she stammered "This whole thing is so... mysterious and thrilling, even."
I blinked twice in confusion. She continued with a hint of amusement, "Could you tell me more about it?"
I blinked, surprised by her enthusiasm. This wasn't the reaction i'd expected.
"Are you sure?" I asked, a note of disbelief coloring my voice.
Her face lightened up, a spark of defiance igniting in her eyes. "Absolutely," she declared, nodding firmly.

Somehow, this turned out a lot better than i had expected, it was delightful. For the first time, someone didn't recoil from my fascination with the spooky stuff. It has always been frustrating how people viewed my liking for this stuff. I felt a little warmth in my chest, quickly followed by a surge of nervous self consciousness. I cleared my throat, tucking a stray strand of hair behind my ear.
"So, Ms. Gabriella Wilson," I began, gauging her reaction. "Do you recall the name by any chance?"
I paused as her expression turned to panic. Her eyes moved down, and she fidgeted in her seat, suddenly the picture of discomfort. I wondered if she was trying to remember something.
"Hey—" before I could say anything further, she covered her ears and shook her head as if asking me to refrain from speaking.
