Melody was jostled around the hall, nobody cared for the girl. She was a loser, an utter loser. She was still more popular than the shorter boy thrown to the right of her.

Her brother, he was a unpopular boy too, his name was Atlas. Tenth grade year had been rough-now as they were nearing the end, people seemed to be a little more violent. Itching to get over with exams and start their summer.

"Uf!" Melody got shoved and ended up dropping her books. "Sorry!" She made a unneccessary apology. Then she gathered her papers and books. She now had just one more class. Shoving her papers and books into her bag, she made a dash for spanish. Her spanish teacher was a bit loco, but she enjoyed Mr. Venderas nonetheless.

Melody made it just before the bell. Taking her corner seat, Melody took out her notes. She never had notes, it was all doodles. She always memorized spanish, her and Mr. Venderas had made a mutual agreement that she would have to speak spanish every time she in the class. Not that it wasn't expected from the rest of the class.

"Muy bien clase, ¡hoy tenemos un examen sorpresa!" The class groaned. Mr. Venderas came up to Melody. "Melody, por favor guarda tus notas."

"Bueno, señor Venderas." Melody happily obliged and stuffed her notes back in her bag.

Mr. Venderas have out the papers. "No empieces hasta que yo lo diga." There were some muffled confusion, Mr. Venderas spoke Spanish all the time they were in class so they could learn faster. In fact, everything about the Spanish room was spanish. After all the papers were passed out, he told them to start.

Melody was done in little over twenty minutes. She glanced up at her fellow classmates, most were still working. She silenced a giggle at their faces, all bowed down focused on the papers.

She flipped her paper over, only to find some extra questions. She grabbed her pencil again and answered those questions. Then she was done.

With boredom seeping in, she twirled her pencil. What was there for her to do? Nothing, nothing at all.

Till that fateful bell rang.

The walk home consisted of really nothing new. Atlas was ahead of her, talking to his only friend. She was listening to her music.

She closed her eyes to really listen to that music. When she opened them just a moment later, she crashed right into a tall blonde man.

With her butt on the ground and the tallest tenth grader towering above her, she saw no escape. Her brother was already far too ahead.

"Hey there," She started off sheepishly.

"Hey yourself!" The boy picked her up on her feet. "If you were a man I would have hit you, but you are a girl. They certainly can't fight. Nor get hit without crying that you broke a nail!" The boy, Mason, had gotten on her nerves. Ever since he moved here at the beginning of the year, she had wanted to punch his very punchable face.

She started to draw back her fist, but Atlas zoomed up from behind her. Grabbing her forearms and dragging her around Mason.

"So sorry! She'll watch where she is going next time," Atlas had almost made it into the clear when he was yanked back.

"Nobody draws back a fist without punching!" At this Mason drew back his own fist. Atlas stopped squirming in the young man's grip, he looked up with fear all over his face.

Melody almost didn't hear her scream, her brother was punched straight in the face. At this Melody rammed the tall blonde's side. At the unexpected shove, Mason dropped the struggling Atlas. Melody picked herself up faster than Mason, then grabbed her brother-who was starting to loose conscience.
