I quietly sat and watched as Pikachu tried to use Thunderbolt, but she wasn't really having any luck. I sighed and patted over to her, she was panting and sitting up against a tall tree.
"Have you had any luck learning Thunderbolt or any other electric type moves yet?" She shook her head with a lash of her thunderbolt-shaped tail.
"No luck" She said while looking up at me with sad and depressed eyes. I sighed and tried to think of something to say that would cheer her up, but my mind drew a compleat blank.
"I mean, come on! I'm an electric-type Pokémon and I can't even use any electric-type moves!" Pikachu continued speaking while looking down at her feet in frustration.
"Maybe you'll learn one once you evolve" I say, but apparently that was the wrong thing to say because her head shot up and she turned to me with an icy glair. I lowered my head in shame for blurting out stuff before thinking it through.
"I DON'T WANT TO EVOLVE! I WANT TO GET STRONGER WITHOUT EVOLVING!" She yelled, her paws balled up into fists and her eyes filled with tears as she continued speaking. "THAT'S HOW MY PARENTS WERE KILLED! THEY BOTH EVOLVED TO SOON WITHOUT LEARNING ANY MOVES TO DEFEND THEMSELVES!" She said, lowering her head before raising her gaze back up to stare at me with teary eyes. I looked down at my paws, I never knew that, she's never told me about being scared of evolving or how her parents died. But apparently she was't finished, because she started speaking before I could even open my mouth.
"I DON'T WANT TO MAKE THE SAME MISTAKE THAT MY PARENTS MADE, SO I NEED TO LERN AN ELECTRIC-TYPE MOVE SO THAT I CAN DEFEND MYSELF OK! SO, PLEASE, FOR THE LOVE OF STARCLAN, STOP TALKING ABOUT EVOLVING! JUST PLEASE STOP!" After her outburst she ran off into the trees without a second glance back at me.
"Pikachu! Wait! Come back! I'm sorry for what I said!" I meowed after her but she was already gone, I ran after her to try and find her, but I had lost sight of her. I sighed softly and decided to go and talk with Flurry.
"Hmmm... I see, so you accidentally said something that you shouldn't have and Pikachu ran away?" Flurry asked me with a small frown. I numbly nodded my head in response.
"It's my fault for saying anything at all, I should have just let her be." I mumbled quietly to myself. Flurry sighed softly and shook her head. "It's not your fault, Glameow, just give her some time and I'm sure she'll come back when she's ready." She said with comforting smile on her face. I slowly nodded and smiled softly up at Flurry.
I then walked out of the den and headed to the edge of our territory to wait for Pikachu to come back. I was never one who liked waiting long. Once she finally did came back, her fur was matted with dirt and her eyes were red-rimmed and puffy from crying. She looked as if she had been training all day with no luck whatsoever.
She waved a paw at me as she trudged into Flurry's den to get cleaned up. I pricked my ears for anything, but silence and the sound of crickets cherping was the only thing that I could hear. I sighed and slowly entered the den and curled up in a corner to wait for Pikachu to speak. "How'd training go?" I quietly asked her, but she just shrugged and walked over to the other side of the den, she curled up into a ball and faced away from me.
"Why won't you tell me?" I say with sad mew. But yet again, Pikachu just huffs turned her back on me. I sighed sadly and gave one more sad glance at Pikachu before I let my eyes slip shut.
I just sighed as I watched Pikachu once again try to use Thunderbolt. I liked her determination to never give up, but it was just getting frustrating to watch by this point.
I sighed again and patted over to her, I was going to knock some sense into her whether Pikachu liked it or not. She wouldn't be happy about what I was about to say, but she was just going to tire herself out if she kept this up.
"Stop, Pikachu! You can use both Quick Attack and Iron Tail. Remember? It's no big deal if you can't use an electric-type move. If you can't do something, give it up." I said while staring directly at Pikachu, who scowled and glared at me.
"Glameow! How can you say something like that? Your my best friend, I thought that you would at least try and help me! But instead of trying to help me, you're just telling me that I should just quit and give up? Well I'm not going to give up! I'm going to keep practicing until I learn Thunderbolt!" She yelled, clenching her paws into fists as she glaciers even harder at me.
"I already said... there's no reason why you can't just use the moves you already know and take part in battles that work for you. You don't have to." I said as I began walking over to Pikachu, who looked up at me with a glair. I didn't blame her though, she's very mad at me for telling her to just simply quit and give up.
"Listen to me! This just isn't good enough!" I say with a frustrated yowl. Pikachu hissed, leapt into the air, and hit me in the back with a powerful and anger-filled Iron Tail. "If you can't do it, then you can't do it!" I meowed, being comply honest. Pikachu just stomped her feet on the ground and her cheek began to spark with electricity.
"What's wrong with you anyway? Okay, fine! Do whatever you want, Pikachu." I muttered angrily under my breath. Pikachu's cheeks puffed out in anger and she starts yells at me again, her eyes welled up with tears and she turned on her heal and ran into the forest.
"Pikachu! Wait! Come back! I'm sorry for what I said!" I meowed, but she was already gone. I ran after her to try and find her, but I had lost sight of her. I sighed and stared sadly down at my paws. There I go again, speaking without thinking. Me and my big mouth. I thought to myself as I slowly made my way back to camp to wait for her to return yet again.
