The sun beats down on my back as I prepare for another dive, surrounded by the sea, surrounded by her. I plunge into the watery darkness again, and again I see the blue light in the distance. I swim, and swim, and swim until my legs ache, until my oxygen tank is nearly empty, until my arms grow numb. Still the light shines and grows as I approach. Then suddenly, like a candle being snuffed out, it vanishes.

I am left once again drifting in a watery void, longing, yearning, wanting for answers. Why does she elude me? Why does she guide me here only to disappear? Why am I left in this emptiness, alone, hovering between answers shrouded in darkness, and light filled with lies? The answers, as always, do not come.

I swim to the surface.

The captain lifts me into his boat and I stare down into the ocean. I remove my headgear and my hair falls down to my lower back. I lift my hair, it has grown since I dove in. Upon arriving back at my hotel room I look in the mirror, my hair is dry as it should be but it clumps together at the ends, like seaweed. I remove my clothes and take a shower, no other changes seem to have occurred.

As I lay my head down for sleep, I am filled with questions, but I do not know if she will answer them. I close my eyes and drift to sleep. Darkness takes me.

Once again I am surrounded by the room, door open, filled with ocean. Once again I can breathe, and I exit the room to see her in all her majesty. She looms over me, staring into my soul, and for the first time, she speaks. Her voice surrounds me as the sea does, booms in my heart like a drum, and shakes me to my core.

"You will only find me where none can go, seek out what must be seen where nothing can be seen." With these words ringing in my ears, I awaken. The sun shines in through the window, and I can smell the seawater.

I get up and walk into the bathroom to wash up and prepare for the day. I take a shower while brushing to save time, shave, and after I wash my face I look in the mirror.

My hair is long and green, like seaweed.
My eyes, like a blue sky reflected in the sea.
My neck sports gills, and my ears are fins.
My voice is muffled behind gargled screams.

I awaken in a cold sweat.
