Charlotte loved her stay at her new home. She felt absolutely loved and cherished inside the household. She could eat the food she wanted to eat and could even do her hobbies without being yelled at! She loved it here, and she loved her new mother.

One normal day, Her adoptive mother rushed inside Charlotte's room and stared deeply at her. She paused for a few minutes before talking in her usual gentle voice, "My husband is coming home in a few hours." Charlotte's heart began to race. What if he didn't like her and forced Beatrice to change her mind? Would her despise her? Negative thoughts spiralled in her head at rapid speed, but her mother decided to clear her thoughts for her.

"My husband will love you, Lottie. He always wanted to have children, but I couldn't have one. It hurt me to see him so sad knowing I ruined his chance at being a wonderful father, but he told me that it wasn't my fault." Beatrice paused for a minute before looking at Charlotte lovingly, "He will be ecstatic to see you, Lottie. He will be a wonderful father. Anyway, I need help in the kitchen to cook lunch. Would you mind helping me, Lottie dear?"

Charlotte nodded and followed Beatrice out of her room and downstairs to the kitchen, they spent an hour or so cooking delicious food for lunch, as they were too engrossed at cooking, they hadn't noticed the door being fumbled open.

"Bea, I am home!" A wheezy voice called out in the hallway. Both Charlotte and Beatrice heard it and immediately stopped what they were doing to step outside into the hallway. Once they stepped foot into the hallway, they saw a short, plump yet wholesome looking man who was right beside a suitcase.

"James! You've arrived early, and dinner isn't ready yet. Why don't you rest in the living room first? You look extremely tired." Beatrice said. She couldn't control the excitement and the announcement she had for James.

Hiding behind Beatrice, Charlotte was anxious. She didn't know how Beatrice would introduce her to Mr. James.

Mr. James looked at Beatrice with loving eyes before striking another conversation, "The journey wasn't that long, I will be fine. I can help you with dinner." Beatrice was quick to say, "Oh, dinner is already ready! I still need to set the table."

Mr. James tried to insist that he would do it, but Beatrice was going to pull the shock card on James.

"Charlotte, dear. Would you mind setting the table?" Beatrice said as she looked behind her, smiling happily as she said so.

Mr. James was shocked and was even more shocked to see a teenage girl behind his wife. Feeling curious, he asked, "Who's this, Bea?" His voice laced with interest and curiosity.

Beatrice chuckled as she gently pushed Charlotte closer to her husband, "Our adopted daughter, My dear James.." She barely contained the excitement in her voice as the tone of her voice was quite higher than usual.

Hearing his wife's words made the sturdy walls of his heart slowly crumble down as he felt fat, hot tears gush out from his eyes. They had a child, He is now a father. Even if she was adopted, he loved her nonetheless. Feeling his face is now wet, he tried to wipe them off in embarrassment but they kept on coming out.

Beatrice hurriedly went to Mr. James side, carrying a handkerchief ready to wipe away the tears of joy from his face while also using said handkerchief to wipe her own tears. Charlotte stood awkwardly as she stared at her new parents crying in happiness, feeling too unimportant to hug and cry with them together.

Noticing this, Beatrice opened her arms in waiting. Seeing the action done for her, Charlotte felt herself tear up as she ran to hug her beloved new parents. Back then, she was too afraid to even cry in the orphanage, but now, she can happily cry with the family she thought she could only have in her own fantasies.

A Loving Family. A Happy Family.
