I've been in a writing slump. I can blame it on a lot of things but it all comes down to me not being motivated to write. But I had to start back up, because the support is constant. I haven't been on here for a bit, telling myself that tomorrow I'll write and post. But when I did my notifications were flooded, little comments, votes, favourites, my books being saved to reading lists. It was comforting in a way, to see that my work was still being enjoyed.

Before we get on with the chapter, I just want to thank everyone. I read every comment, I see every vote and I adore seeing my books being saved into lists. It may seem small, but it really brightens my day. I can admit my work isn't ground breaking, but I did start writing with the intent that the story would be appreciated. I adore all of you,  so thank you again

Now let's get on to the real deal, if you know me then you should know by now that I love taking canon events and molding them to fit my story. This chapter will be another example of that, obviously it's not going to be as brutal as canon, but the event does hold significance in my grand scheme of things. I would recommend looking up The Battle Above God's Eye if you're not already familiar, just to have a general idea about what I'm going on about.

Also, when I started this series, I had a direct idea of what exactly I wanted to happen and we're almost there! I can't believe it already, only about four more chapters after this guys, I hope I make it worth it.

And of course, don't forget to be on the look out for my book on Jace afterwards. It's just going to be ten chapters explaining ASOIAF lore I deem relevant to this AU as well as showing off Jace's little adventure after The Ambush of The Gullet. It'll be released after I'm finished with this book (while I'm editing).

When tragedy strikes, whose word can you truly trust? And what of the truth?

Taking King's Landing hadn't ended the war. For the past three days Daemon had been filtering through letters sent from all over the Crownlands and Riverlands. Aegon and Rhaenyra may not have been in battle, but their followers were still continuing.

It was a disaster in the making. Securing King's Landing, retaking The Red Keep, reinstating the proper Small Council, it all would mean nothing the longer the conflict continued. The longer Rhaenyra did not execute her power as the sovereign sitting The Iron Throne. Still, Daemon knew better than to fault her for it. While he, Rhaenys and Baela had spent the past three days sifting through the reports of battle and pleads of aid; Rhaenyra, Corlys and Visenya had spent their three days stopping all of the plans and motions The Greens had been trying to push forward.

They had barely seen each other but Daemon knew the realm was on edge. After just about two years, The Black Queen was finally sitting on The Iron Throne. The people of King's Landing welcomed their Queen with open arms, but Daemon knew how fickle they could be. His only solace was knowing that Rhaenyra was clever enough to first display food and medical aid to the people of The Capital. Sure she had gained their favour for now, but that did not mean that she had their loyalty.

Loyalty would always sway. Blood and Cheese were supposed to be loyal, but then they'd gone ahead and messed that up, costing Helaena and Jace their son. Many of their supporters were supposed to be loyal, but there they went scurrying to The Greens in Oldtown. Daemon had learnt from a young age that you simply couldn't trust anyone that wasn't blood, and so he didn't.

Which was why he was utterly perplexed when a letter came bearing the seal of The One Eyed Prince of Stone. Daemon wouldn't say he trusted Aemond, not completely at least. The Prince was a political headache on the best of days. But he knew he could trust Aemond's devotion to his step daughter. He knew—dare he say love—made even the maddest man at least a little trustworthy. He experienced it first hand when Corlys extended his hand during his marriage to Laena.
