Evelyn woke up by falling out of bed to the sound of her alarm blaring in her face. She was about to shut it off and go back to sleep when she saw the time. Of course she'd overslept. What a wonderful way to make a first impression. "Oh, goddamnit!" She cursed, grabbing her contact lenses and inserting them so that she wouldn't have to see the natural blood red of her eyes while she dressed. She hurriedly performed the necessities, running to her wardrobe and picking out a dress and heels. "What a way to make a first impression, Hart." She groaned to herself as she grabbed her car keys and headed out of the door, silently glad that she already knew someone there. As she pulled up to the GCPD building, she was greeted by another woman, with red hair and dark eyes, who wore a sweater similar to the one Ed had when they met, jeans, and sneakers, she smiled at her as she stepped out of the car. "Hi, my names' Evelyn."
"Oh, I know. My brother told me. I don't actually work here, I'm just here to see him." The woman paused for a moment, and then continued. "Oh! My name's Erica Nygma. I'm Eddie's younger sister." She held out her hand, which Evelyn shook. "That explains it then." She brushed her hair out of her eyes as the two of them entered the building. They passed another woman, who had dark brown hair and blue eyes. She was currently in conversation with Edward, and a man she didn't recognize but who had the same eye colour as the woman. There was another man who seemed annoyed by Ed even being there. More so when he proceeded to ask the three a riddle. "What's nowhere, but everywhere, except where something is?" Evelyn and Erica walked over to the group, causing Edward to smile, the younger woman to pull a gun on them, the older to have to talk her into lowering it, and the man Evelyn had already mentally deemed as Mr. Grumpypants to give them a deadpan look.
"Nothing." Evelyn laughed, answering the riddle while Erica gave a slight glare to Mr. Grumpypants. Edward smiled at her. "Correct." The Gun Woman was the next to speak up, having once again holstered the weapon. "Sorry about that. I get jumpy. My names Sam. Sam Gordon. That's my brother, Jimbo, and the grumpyass is Harvey Bullock. You've already met Edward and Erica. You're in the records annex, right?" Evelyn nodded, which prompted her to continue. "You must be Kristen's replacement, then. Also, Me, Harv and Jimbo are detectives, Eddie is in forensics and Erica doesn't work here but she's here practically every day, for future reference. If you need help finding anything Ed knows pretty well where everything is in there." Evelyn nodded, giving a smile to the woman, Sam. "Good to know." She then proceeded to leave the room, almost tripping on her high heels on the way out.
The group dispersed, leaving Edward on his own in the room. At that very moment, a man with a crazed look in his eyes entered the building, "Jim Gordon, Where is he?!" He said in an aggravated manner - scaring the desk secretary. "I think he went with Ed?" She said nervously, clearly terrified. Jim Gordon was not, in fact, with Ed. He'd left the room with his sister Samantha to investigate a recent case of an escaped convict - and the man was increasingly agitated and clearly seemed to be hiding something in his large coat, that it really wasn't cold enough for. He had heavy features and somewhat fuzzy grey hair - Ed spied what the object was - and muttered his usual "oh dear." to himself, looking around the room for someone qualified to deal with the situation....he was only glad The Riddler hadn't shown up. Yet. "Why is he wearing a winter coat on a hot summer day?" Ed spoke to himself, seeing as there was no one in the room to ask the question - sometimes, he preferred it that way thanks to...well, the other him.
Evelyn had only just stepped past when she saw the man - her unconventional senses telling her this was not good. She froze as she saw the man enter the room, she found it highly suspicious, the way he was dressed, when suddenly, he grabbed the gun and aimed it at Edward - "GET JIM GORDON HERE NOW OR YOU ALL DIE!" She then scanned the room for something to grab, spotting the tea trolley as a smirk passed her lips. "Don't do what I think you're going to." She spoke to herself, as another her appeared beside her...who only she would have been able to see. Thank God she was alone. She eyed the tea trolley, grabbing the trolley and casually rolling it into the room - then, on sight of the man, cheerfully shouting; "Eddie!" in a high-pitched, overly cheerful voice. She then saw the man, fake screamed in a fashion worse than the movie scream, and pretended to fall over, throwing hot coffee into the mans face and "accidentally" flooring him with the trolley. The man fell over backwards, allowing the police officers to grab and cuff the man, the moment Jim and Samantha entered the room with the file - an exact match. Evelyn had fallen on her backside, standing and brushing herself off with a casual look on her face. "....Oops!" She laughed, one of the police officers confusedly commenting ".....Well done?" followed by a deadpan, "...Thanks, Hart." from Samantha. who raised an eyebrow in slight suspicion. "Oh...it really was nothing." She smiled a warning smile - and grabbed an unshattered cup. "Coffee, anyone?"
Ed gave her a suspicious look - as his other self appeared beside him. "That was a very fortuitous accident, Miss Hart." He commented, pointedly, adjusting his glasses with a slight smile - he was starting to like her more and more, but, with his history? He really daren't try anything too soon. "You idiot. She's going to know you're onto her!" He thought, "SHUT UP!" and didn't realize he'd yelled it. Jim looked at him, unfortunately. "You alright there, Ed?" always a quick thinker, the forensic investigator quickly spat out - "I need a minute." and ran to the bathroom. When he arrived, he saw his own reflection smile back at him. Taking off his glasses and washing his face, he then ran out of the room in an agitated manner. "Not Again." He muttered, while slipping into what he now knew as his "screensaver personality". "That was....suspiciously well timed." Riddler pointed out, and then got told to shut up before someone noticed again.
"I need to go freshen up." Evelyn excused herself to her office, gripping the file cabinet with frustration. "You're going to get us caught! Nygma has sharp reflexes." She slammed her hand on the cabinet, before removing it and sighing. "This is going to end up just like last time." She groaned, before leaving the room - The Queen Of Hearts laugh resonating in her head. If she wasn't careful, someone would pick up on her odd behaviour - and back to a goddamn asylum it was! She never should have admitted anything in the first place. Bumping into Edward in the hallway, she awkwardly smiled, said "hello Mr. Nygma.", and shuffled off before he had a chance to say it back. Erica then walked into the building. "....What the fuck just happened in here?" She questioned, an eyebrow raised. "I have no idea." Jim shrugged, deadpan.
