After the disastrous turn of events at Summer Camp, the first-year students of U.A. High were in a bad place. Physically, some were hospitalized and receiving treatment, but the real toll was mental. They had not only been attacked by villains during what was supposed to be a training camp, but one of the villains had impersonated one of their instructors, and the entire fiasco revolved around me—or rather, around Nega. The villain group, dubbed Nemesis by the media, orchestrated the whole operation to sow chaos among us, ultimately kidnapping me and ensuring that Nega was left in control of my body, free from any moral restraints. For some, it felt like a betrayal.

The night of my disappearance, Electrific and Nocturn called in reinforcements from U.A. and Toyama. They transported all the students and members of the Pop Rock Agency to Toyama Central Hospital for immediate care. Hours later, Ultra Bright and Principal Tsunoba joined them, spending the rest of the night checking on each student, taking testimonies, and compiling a report for the authorities and families. The parents were furious about the situation, some on the verge of withdrawing their children from U.A. altogether.

The atmosphere at the hospital was tense. Ultra Bright, with his usual radiant calm, went from room to room, offering words of comfort and reassurance. Principal Tsunoba, on the other hand, was a whirlwind of efficiency, coordinating with hospital staff and handling the barrage of calls from distressed parents.

The next morning, after hours of discussions with the authorities, Ultra Bright and Principal Tsunoba gathered everyone in a large meeting room at the hospital. Some of the more severely injured students, like Hitoyoshi, Joichi, Kenshin, and Ichi, were brought in wheelchairs due to their significant injuries. With a somber expression, Ultra Bright began to speak, his voice heavy with gravity:

- "Good morning, everyone. I apologize for gathering you so early, especially since some of you haven't had a chance to rest properly. However, given the exceptional situation we're facing, Principal Tsunoba and I have decided it's best to be completely transparent with you."

Principal Tsunoba took over, his tone equally serious.

- "As you know, last night our Summer Camp was the target of a surprise attack by the villain group known as Nemesis, whom you've undoubtedly heard about throughout the year. Due to their vicious assault and the infiltration by the villain called Blank, Echo from the Pop Rock Agency is now in intensive care, fighting for her life after being tied to a tree in the forest for over a week with her face brutally mutilated. It's a miracle she survived, sustaining herself on insects and rainwater despite her severe injuries." His four green eyes glistened with tears, and his four arms crossed tightly over his chest as he fought to control his emotions. Ultra Bright continued from where he left off.

- "There's more concerning Echo. Medical analyses reveal that she is now... quirkless." The room erupted in shocked murmurs, students exchanging bewildered looks, trying to comprehend how such a thing could happen. Ultra Bright raised his hand for silence before he spoke again. "According to the valuable testimony of your classmate Kazuo Sogui, it appears her quirk was stolen and transferred to another fugitive villain now a member of Nemesis, known as The Hunter."

This revelation hit the young heroes-in-training like a ton of bricks. But it was especially devastating for Kenshin and Katsuro, who had previously faced this villain alongside Kazuo and me. Their sympathetic glances turned toward Kazuo, understanding that last night he had to confront once again the man who had tried to kill his father. Principal Tsunoba continued:

- "Based on the investigators' hypotheses, this quirk transplantation might be linked to the creature accompanying Nemesis, known as Crystal, who possesses multiple quirks. However, this quirk transfer seems more advanced, as Kazuo did not see any crystals on The Hunter similar to those of Crystal. This could indicate they have managed to recover remains of the Quirk Resonator from the I-Expo and reverse-engineer it into something else. But we cannot be certain at this moment.
