Breakfast at the Raisinghani
The grand dining hall of the Raisinghani mansion is bathed in the soft morning light filtering through the large windows. The table is set with an elaborate spread of breakfast items, but the atmosphere is tense. Rajdeep Raisinghani sits at the head of the table, his expression stern. His mother, Gayatri, sits beside him, her eyes shifting nervously between her son and granddaughter, Anushka. Anushka, a young woman in her early twenties, sits across from her father, her head bowed slightly, pushing the food around her plate.Rajdeep: (voice stern) Anushka, I need an explanation. Why did you agree to meet Yuvaan Rajvanshi? He's twelve years older than you!
Anushka:(sighs deeply, still looking down) Papa, Nanu...
Rajdeep:(interrupting, raising his voice) Nanu what, Anushka? Do you realize the implications of this?
Gayatri: (placing a calming hand on Rajdeep's arm) Rajdeep, please. Let her speak.
Anushka:(takes a deep breath, finally looking up) Nanu emotionally blackmailed me, Papa. He brought up Mama. He said she would have wanted this, and I... I couldn't say no.
Rajdeep's face softens slightly, but his frustration is still evident. Gayatri squeezes his arm gently.
Rajdeep: (voice quieter but still firm) Anushka, you can't let Nanu manipulate you like this. Your mother wouldn't want you to make decisions under pressure.
Anushka: (nodding, her voice soft) I know, Papa. And I promise, I'm just meeting him. I won't say yes to the alliance without thinking it through. I just couldn't bear to see Nanu so upset.
Gayatri: (smiling gently at Anushka) We understand, beta. But remember, this is your life. You have to make decisions that make you happy, not just to please others.
Anushka nods, feeling a mixture of relief and lingering tension. Rajdeep reaches out and places his hand over hers.
Rajdeep: (sighs) Alright. But please, be careful. And if you feel any pressure, come to us. We'll support you, no matter what.
Anushka: (smiling weakly) Thank you, Papa. Thank you, Dadima.
The family falls into a more comfortable silence, the tension slowly dissipating as they focus on their breakfast, trying to find a sense of normalcy in the midst of their complicated emotions.
Raisinghani Legal Firm
The sleek, modern office of the Raisinghani Legal Firm is bustling with activity. The glass walls, minimalist decor, and the hum of conversations create a professional yet energetic atmosphere. Anushka and her father, Rajdeep, walk through the reception area towards the conference room. Anushka carries a stack of files, looking composed and professional. Rajdeep, with a stern but proud expression, walks beside her.Rajdeep:(stopping near the reception desk) Anushka, make sure the new intern is settled in. It's important she gets a good start.
Anushka:(nodding) Of course, Papa. I'll take care of everything.
They approach the conference room where Abhira Birla, a young woman in her early twenties, stands waiting nervously. She straightens up when she sees them, a familiar smile spreading across her face.
Anushka: (smiling warmly) Good morning, Abhira. Welcome to your first day.
Abhira:(smiling back, with a mix of excitement and nervousness) Good morning, Anushka. Good morning, Mr. Raisinghani.
Rajdeep:(nodding curtly) Welcome, Abhira. I trust Anushka's interview process was thorough. She'll show you the ropes today. (turns to Anushka) I'll be in my office if you need me.
