Becoming friends with Jewel

A/n: Heres a new story I wanted to, try and it's rio one of my favorite movies growing up but I wanted to try out a human the ability to talk to animals.

At the bird sanctuary in Rio.

Y/n who is visiting, his Dad who was told that he would be back this afternoon with a blue Spix macaw, he always loved coming here it was his favorite bonding with the birds once he entered the door he was greeted by one of the workers, and was at the desked she smiles waving at him he waves back. he entered the room where they take in the sick birds and then return to the wild where they can be free. He wanted to check on Jewel since she was his favorite one out of everyone here, but what his dad and the others didn't know is he had a very secret that he never told anyone he could understand animals like they were able to talk. the only ones who did know were Scarlett Macaw, named Dawn, and some birds, speaking of which he looked around to see she wasn't there. but she was since Y/n was her favorite human of all time. he enters his room where he can have a quiet

Y/n: Huh, dawn isn't here today looks like it

Just then Dawn came out of nowhere lands on his shoulder catching him off guard she hugged his face with her wings.

Dawn: Morning Y/n!

Y/n: Heh! Morning Dawn

Y/n remembers Dawn when she had her wing injured by a smuggler who wanted to sell her to some drug seller which Pissed y/n off. Dawn didn't trust Y/n at first but when he brought her here to get fixed up she started to warm up to him, but that was when she found out he could understand her and other animals.

Dawn: aren't you going to pet my head, you know I love those.

Y/n chuckles.

Y/n: Okay.

Y/n reaches up to her read feather heads petting her on the head. just then they heard a commotion coming from the room where they kept Jewel. Y/n and Dawn looked at each other nodding to see what was going on.

Y/n: Oh boy she probably attack one of the workers.

Dawn: Yeah, that bird is stubborn.

Y/n: Hey, you were stubborn when we met.

Dawn: That was because you were a human and well humans keep birds as pets.

Y/n: Hey, I Offered you to go to the wild, where you can live free.

Dawn smiled knowing y/n did that he didn't keep her he let her stay over two nights until she was better he did let her go, but she always came back to visit him sometime due to him being her favorite human to go to when she just wanted to hang out. Y/n and Dawn made their way to the room to find one of the caretakers coming out with scratches and bandages. Y/n gives him a sheepish look.

Y/n: 4th time this week?

Caretaker: I'll say.

He walks away while Y/n and Dawn both look at each other sighing wishing there was a way to get through to Jewel that they were trying to help. he looks at the door where the caretaker left. y/n looked at Dawn.

Y/n: should I reveal my secret to Jewel?

Dawn: If you want, But I doubt she would attack you, even if you can talk to her.

Y/n takes a deep breath and opens the door, he knows his dad Tulio told him not to but since he had his secret since he was away in Minnesota. he closes the door to Jewel's enclosure they look around Dawn whistles.

Dawn: wow, I'm jealous of her enclosure, if this was me I wouldn't want to leave.

Just then Y/n had to duck when Jewel came out of nowhere and started to attack him for no reason Dawn moved out of the way.
