I lay in bed, the sun is long gone and has been replaced by a fluorescent moon.
Shuffling onto my right side, I clasp my hands together, starting at the window and into the night. His hair was so dark, almost as dark as the sky I gloomed at.. 'I wonder if we'll meet again', I ponder, as my eyelids grow heavy.
The second time I encounter blurry face, he'd approached me purposefully.
Perched on a wooden chair of my favourite cafe, I sip quietly on my tea and read. I enjoy the tranquility of a book, and I contemplate whether or not Hangwen may run into me. Surprisingly, just as the thought crosses my mind, a warm hand taps my shoulder.
"Is this seat taken?" they enquire.
My heart drops into my stomach. That's not Hangwen's voice.. I turn slowly to meet them, it's him.
I mumble a weak 'no', caught up in his gaze. I can see him much better now. He's beautiful, even as his face is stoic. Almond shaped eyes adorning honey brown irises, a slight stubble that was clearly shaven in the morning, a Roman nose I could sit on..
"I don't usually tolerate staring, but those eyes are making it hard for me to do anything about it." A chuckle rumbles through his chest, breaking me out of my trance. "Oh, I'm sorry I just- I think I saw you yesterday." "Yep, that was me, princess." His voice low and deep, pulling out the chair next to me and sitting down. His back pack is wide open, it's hard for me not to notice the familiar white of his lab coat.
"You're a doctor?" I babble out, before I can manage to stop myself. Shaking his head, the man tuts. His eyes seem to deviate from his normal glare, softening at my pout of confusion. "Training to be one" he clarifies, pulling out a laptop and notebook. "Me too!" I whisper-shout, excitement overcoming me. His demeanour seems cold, he glances at me for a second, and I half expect him to spit at me, but an unusual smile breaks out onto his face. "Cute." He murmurs, before shifting his focus back onto his laptop.
