Kion's pov:
I yawned, opened my eyes and saw a lioness with brown fur and red eyes. She smirked and I giggled.
A lion with orange fur, a black main and green eyes nuzzled the lioness.
In a corner, a young lioness with orange fur and blue eyes smiled at me. There were other two lions, the older one had brown fur, a black main and red eyes and the younger one had brown fur, a black main and green eyes.
The adult lioness took me out of the cave to an edge of a big rock. Hyenas, jackals and vultures cheered when they saw me.
The two adults beamed with pride and power.
"Kion. Remember. We all love you." Mom told me that night.
I looked at her, confused. She smiled and I nuzzled her, cuddling her soft fur.
"I love you too, Kion." The young lion with green eyes, Kovu, walked over to me.
"We all do." The lioness with orange fur, Vitani, smiled.
I giggled and nuzzled the young lion. "Kovu." I said.
The lions smiled, there was sadness in their eyes, but I didn't see that. I was too young to notice.
Next day:
I woke up, feeling cold. I wanted to nuzzle to my mom's soft fur, but she wasn't there.
A lioness took me in her teeth.
I heard screams in horror, claws lashing into fresh blood, and pleading for mercy.
"Mom! Mom!" I cried.
But no one came. The lioness ran faster through the savannah.
"Don't worry, you're in good hands now." The lioness whispered.
But she was wrong, all I wanted right now was my mom. I wanted to nuzzle into her warm fur and fall asleep. I wanted to feel safe.
A few days later:
"Dad? Can I go outside?" I asked a lion with gold fur and kind, red eyes.
