"It's year 2044. An advanced year that some people called Cyberpunk. Technically has advanced beyond what it was like years ago. Technically has come a long way, for the better. As some people would say. But some people would disagree. Those who lost their jobs to the hands of technology. Being that technology can run faster than humans, process things faster, and work nonstop. Making businesses run smoothly and efficiently. Those who had lost their jobs now live in a poorer environment than most. Lost friends and family as well. These people live to survive, unlike the rich who have no worries. They owe it all the the company named Bytewave. The highest most powerful technology company. It would cost a fortune just to be accepted in the company to work. Only the elites. The company is run by a man named Kim Namjoon, and Kim Seokjin. The two build the company when they were younger, being close friends the two managed to be where they are today. With the largest company that sells technology to the world. In recent projects, the two built a robot company. Known as Cybernetic Helper and Protector or C.H.A.P for short. These robots are programmed to be a companion to those in need. Specifically those with mental illness that struggle with such topics. Since the robot is still in the works, they've recently started testing. Seokjin volunteered his best friend, Min Yoongi to be the first to ever own the C.H.A.P robot. Seokjin and Namjook believe that the robot can help Yoongi with his depression and anxiety. Whether it be there for support or give advice. Though Seokjin and Namjoon did mention that the robot is programmed to help along the way, not to get rid of the problem completely. The two believe there will be improvements after having C.H.A.P's help but it also takes the person to make the decision to go on forward. Now a lot of people are question the two owners of Bytewave if this robot is worth trusting, and if this is another technology that can ruin people's eyes in a blink of an eye."
As the News report continued to speak about the latest technology, Namjoon stared at the tv with narrowed eyes with his hands in the pockets of his suit pants. He let out a frustrated sigh as he grabbed the remote to the tv. Turning the tv off completely. His gaze then turned to Yoongi, who was sitting in a chair on the other side of his desk. Today was the day, that Yoongi would bring home the new C.H.A.P and start the test. Namjoon walked over to his desk chair, the formal shoes he wore clicked against the marble floor with each step. Once he settled down in the chair, he leaned forward against his desk, his hand entwined together with his elbows on the table. His gaze softened once he spoke up to Yoongi
"I appreciate you accepting our request for you to be the first person to test out our new Cybernetic Helper and Protector. We've come a long way to make this day possible"
Namjoon said. His voice professionally yet welcoming. Yoongi slouched against the chair he was sitting at, crossing his arms over his chest. He wasn't in the mood for this whole meeting. Nor was he particularly fond of having a robot in his living space. He found it... creepy.
"Well if it wasn't for Seokjin begging me to accept this, I wouldn't be here"
Yoongi stated with a matter of a fact tone. Namjoon just chuckled, he was use to Yoongi's sarcastic and sassy remarks. So this didn't surprise him. Namjoon leaned back against his own chair. He reached one of his hands up to his chin, scratching at it as he watched Yoongi before his eyes wondered to his computer screen
"Nonetheless, you're here now and I truly appreciate it. Now, enough small talk and let's talk about C.H.A.P."
Namjoon cleared his throat and shifted in his seat, sitting up straight. He started to type on his keyboard, pulling up some documents about the new robot.
"As you may have heard from the recent platforms you get your news from. A lot of people are worried about this advanced technology, and I can see why. But I won't get to into that today. What I want to discuss with you before we send you on your way is the agreement and explain to you some things that can put your mind at ease. Our robots are programmed to help you enhance your ability to become the better version of yourself."
Namjoon explained, as he pointed the screen of his computer. Showing Yoongi the layout of everything. Yoongi's eyes stared at the screen with curiosity and uncertainty
"This being said. The robot can't do everything for you. You will also need to do the improvement yourself. Though I know it's hard sometimes especially from the things you explained to us when you feel not so well. That's why the robot is there. To help you get out of that hard time and lend you the support you need to push forward."
As Namjoon continued to explain everything to Yoongi. Yoongi's uncertainty slowly went away. He felt a little bit better about this knowing that if anything went wrong with the robot, Yoongi would have the company on his side to protect him. As the run down came to an end Yoongi got to name the robot, and pick the way the robot looked. Yoongi based this new robot to his best friend, whom he had lost years ago during the time frame of people losing his job. Namjoon wasn't sure if that was a good idea, since Yoongi was still grieving the loss. But he knew that if things got to intense, they could always switch the look of the robot with ease. Once everything was signed and ready to go. Yoongi stood up, and thanked Namjoon for this opportunity. Before he could leave Namjoon spoke up once more
"Oh and Yoongi. One more thing. Don't become to attached to the robot. They're just technology, they can't feel. If they did then... unfortunately we would have to reboot the entire system of the robot."
