Moonbyul froze in shock and collapsed, which made Yongsun snap out of her own panic to call an ambulance and the police.

The receptionist sat on the floor next to the stepmother and stood there in silence until the paramedics invaded the house.

The girl heard someone saying the male was dead and then things became vague and confusing.

Yongsun saw two strangers picking Moonbyul and taking her away, and another one checked her vital signs and asked her questions, but she couldn't really comprehend.

It was like a very distant echo as if she was out of her body while watching those people moving around the house.

The police arrived shortly after and a man tried to interrogate her. However, the paramedics said she was in shock and they would not allow the police to disturb the patient under that condition.

The ambulance took the two women and Wheein heard their names on the news, which made her immediately contact a lawyer.

The next weeks were messy and complicated because of the media and police had to work hard to keep the reporters away.

Hyejin and Wheein visited their best friend several times and advised her to avoid spending time alone with Yongsun before the investigation was over.

The receptionist also received support from the couple and they recommended her a good shrink.

The police had access to all the footage done in the mansion and they could see that Kun-woo had tried to kill the stepmother and that Yongsun acted to defend herself and the older woman.

The investigation opened a whole can of worms, which exposed the love affair between the females but also showed the amount of illegal actions done by the deceased.

One of the security guards confessed that he was threatened by the former boss and had to keep quiet, but he handed the police footage of Kun-woo shooting the stepmother.

Even though one of the investigators tried to raise accusations against Moonbyul and Yongsun, his team concluded that both women had been victims in Kun-woo's hands.

During the 6 months of the investigation, Yongsun stayed at Wheein's place and her supervisor became closer to her.

The girl, who had turned 22 during such a horrible period, was feeling down and missing the blonde.

Moonbyul also went through hard days despite Hyejin welcoming her into her apartment and spoiling the friend in many ways.

The blonde had gotten traumatized by all the violence committed by Kun-woo against Yongsun and herself, which worked as a trigger and brought lots of memories back.

Despite that, the businesswoman didn't talk about any of that with anyone for a long time.

The 28-year-old woman summoned a meeting with all the company boards a week after the police closed the case.

Wheein and Hyejin were in the meeting room too and their jaws dropped when their friend announced that her accountant and the company lawyer had gathered proof of dozens of crimes committed by Kun-woo.

The former stepmother explained that even though she had lost her memory the previous year, her instinct told her to sign any document given by the stepson with an incorrect signature.

The male used that signature as a model and forged a lot of documents, committing fraud and all his contracts were illegal.

Moonbyul also explained that she had evidences of all the members of the board who had supported willingly Kun-Woo's illegal business.
