Losing it

Yongsun was really worried about Moonbyul. So every time she visited the stepmother and Kun-woo was not present, the younger girl tried to ask questions that might bring the blonde's memory back.

Some days later, the doctors said that the stepmother could go back home because her health was stable.

Questioning the professional about the older woman's mind, the receptionist heard him say that Moonbyul might recover her memories slowly or never get them back.

In the mansion, Kun-woo was acting all sweet and helpful to the blonde and Yongsun kept a close eye on her husband as much as she could.

At first, Kun-woo asked the younger girl to stay home with Moonbyul for a couple of weeks while he was dedicated to administrating the company.

Hyejin and Wheein told her not to worry too much because they would keep an eye on him.

Meanwhile, the stepmother was slowly gaining some weight back, and she accepted the brunette's suggestion to sit by the pool and enjoy some sun early in the mornings.

Other than that, the woman was always quiet, and she seemed uneasy and distressed.

Three weeks after the blonde left the hospital, the stepson took the opportunity that Yongsun needed to go to the dentist and had a talk with the older woman.

Moonbyul was in her bedroom reading a book, and he knocked on the door before going inside.

The stepmother was not expecting that but sat in bed to hear what the stepson had to say.

Clearing his throat, Kun-woo first asked:

__ How are you feeling today?

__ I think I am slowly getting back to normal.

The male asked casually:

__ How about your memories? Did you remember anything?

__ Nothing yet...__ The blonde seemed frustrated.

Kun-woo acted convincingly:

__ I need to tell you something but I'm afraid of stressing or scaring you...

__ It's not necessary. I'm not a fragile vase. Go ahead.__ The stepmother declared very emphatically.

The tall guy murmured:

__ Okay... I can't stand not telling you the truth. You and I... we have a past.

__ I'm sure of it. I married your father. We became a family.

The stepson pretended to be embarrassed:

__ Not what I mean. Byul-yi... You and I... fell in love.

The blonde widened her eyes:

__ Wha... aaat?

__ I know how it sounds... But I swear we didn't plan. Our feelings started when my father was alive. Despite adoring him, you had him as a close friend. Or like an uncle who needed your help.

Moonbyul was shocked:

__ No... I can't believe we did this to your father.

Kun-woo faked some tears:

__ He loved you as a daughter. Not as a woman. And he was sick. But in the end, you and I had to repress our feelings. Nobody would understand if the stepmother married her stepson.

The blonde whispered:

__ I... don't even know what to say...

__ Although I feel ashamed to confess, our feelings never ended. Not even after I got married. We had been sleeping together in secret before you were shot. Sometimes I suspect Yongsun knows...

Moonbyul froze and only her eyes kept winking, as if she was making a huge effort to break a weird and powerful spell.

The older woman knew the police were still investigating her attack and somehow, her stepson seemed to be insinuating that his wife could be involved.

Kun-woo tried to caress the blonde's face, but Moonbyul avoided his touch with an excuse:

__ I'm sorry. I'm not feeling very well now. Everything you told me is so... overwhelming. I'd like to be alone.

__ I understand, Byul-yi. I want the best for you. I love you very much. Try to get some sleep.

The stepson smiled and left the bedroom, which made Moonbyul sigh with relief.

Despite all his words, the older woman didn't trust Kun-woo and her whole body had an aversion to the idea of loving him.

__ x __

Moonbyul was feeling bad just to imagine that Yongsun had been cheated by Kun-woo with her help.

The stepmother refused to believe that, and she had been avoiding both the girl and the guy for days.

However, the receptionist continued visiting Moonbyul in her room to suggest things that might help the blonde recover fast. And one of them was swimming in the pool.

Unable to find a good excuse, the stepmother put on a bikini and joined Yongsun in the external area.

Both of them sat by the pool and put on some sunblock in silence.

The 21-year-old girl started some small talk and Moonbyul did her best to respond despite averting her eyes.

Then they had the same thought that swimming would be the perfect way to escape from awkwardness.

The blonde dove first and Yongsun got into the pool some minutes later.

The receptionist saw the stepmother emerge and give her a long stare.

__ Are you alright?__ She asked with concern.

Moonbyul seemed to duel with herself before responding:

__ I'd like to ask you something, but I'm afraid I may offend you.

__ Relax. You can ask anything.

The blonde hesitated:

__ Whenever I look at you, I have a weird feeling. But at the same time... some things don't make sense.

The younger girl swam closer to the stepmother and questioned:

__ What is it? Which weird feeling?

__ Please... Don't take this badly. Have you and I ever... had something?

The brunette pushed the other one to speak:

__ Something like what?

__ Like lovers do...__ Moonbyul murmured.

Yongsun stared into the blonde's eyes:

__ Why? What makes you think that?

Glancing at the receptionist's lips, the older woman said with desire in her eyes:

__ Because my whole body reacts to your presence. Every time...

The brunette got even closer and questioned:

__ And what do you feel like doing?

Moonbyul grabbed the girl by the waist and pressed her against the border of the pool.

__ I feel like making you mine.

The stepmother's voice was sensual and her left hand grabbed Yongsun's nape while she leaned her head closer to the girl's face.

__ I am yours. And I miss being taken by you.__ The 21-year-old confessed.

They smelled each other's necks and rubbed their noses before giving in to a starving kiss.

Although Yongsun knew how risky and crazy that situation was, she couldn't hold it any longer.

She missed not just the sex but all kinds of affection the blonde had given her. And knowing that the older woman could crack their relationship despite having no memory warmed her heart.

Kun-woo was just a ghost in that moment, and Yongsun wanted to enjoy how real and concrete the blonde was.
