* When they take you out on a date*

Duke was a pretty boy, an authority figure and pretty sensitive when it comes to folks he cares about.

That's where you fit in. He liked you, and wanted more time with you rather than just having you over at AMP mansion to chill.

He had you up on the rooftop of a restaurant, overseeing the city and its inhabitants.

He cleaned up well, refreshed his locks and gave a off a classy casual. He always had his diamons grills in, his signature look and he smelled so good.

" Yeah, uh...let's try dat bourbon. You like that right?" He pointed towards you. You nodded, already knowing what you wanted for your meals and giving the waiter your menus.

" I gotta say, Duke. You outdid yourself I didn't know you had it in you. "

Duke kissed his teeth and smiled, you could tell a man blushing when you seen it and this man obviously had butterflies.

" I couldn't let yo pretty go without me giving you a date. A nigga had ta pull a lul some out his sleeve. You look good as hell I ain't gone cap witchu." His eyes scanned your body.

" You look good too, I appreciate the compliment. I love how your chain matches your grills."

" You know we been chillin, and I still don't know alot about you."

" Duke, I thought I told you." Your frowned.

" Listen, with a ass like yours- I'm sorry I ain't mean to disrespectful."

You shook your head and put up your hands.

" None taken."

" It's just...yo aura. It makes a nigga distracted."

" Well, my mom's a Pious. She believes everyone is going to hell but her. My dad died when I was four, my grandmother is still alive and cursing out everyone in the nursing home."

Duke chuckled.

" My favorite color is Orange and I don't necessarily have a favorite flavor. I just like being to myself sometimes but I do like to go out. I like working out and I am a free lancer."

Duke nodded his head, liking what he was hearing.

" You one of those chick's that like to show up and show out ain't you?"

" Me? Oh, no I'm very chill."

" Yeah, that's what yall all say."

" And what do you say?" You asked, watching as the waitress gave you your meal.

" I say that you a chick that like to show up and show out."

You giggled.

" Only when you in that mood though."

Duke was...charming. Out spoken and he had his ways of making you keep a smile on your face.

You like the classy casual he had going and the fact that the both of you weren't too overdressed.

" You liking the food?" He asked.

" This pasta is good. Could use more sauce." You said, stuffing a fork full in your cheeks.

Duke took his time to admire you. From the curl pattern in your hair, to the white tips of your toe nails. He liked your gold nose ring and also the small tattoo of your mother's name on your right wrist.

You smelled good, and looked to have your shit together.

After the meal, he took you to a park. Where a man was throwing a Frisby for his dog to catch and a woman strolling her small child around.

You gathered his hand in yours as you talked about your routine that you do in the mornings at home.  And how you loved yoga and were very flexible.

" You should come to a class with me." You suggested.

Duke was almost stuck at the fact that he was liking the hand holding and nodded.

" I can do that." He agreed.

" Look! A blue jay."

A small blue bird was perched on a branch as the two of you neared it slowly.

" I love its color and how they are so common in the states." You gushed at how beautiful the bird was.

Nature was beautiful, and it gave Duke the time to get to know you better.

Your honey brown eyes gazing out looking for different things to talk about. You had the prettiest frame and prettiest smile. Duke couldn't be more lucky.

" Be honest. You didn't like all the talking I did today. I understand, alot of guys don't like a girl that yaps."

Duke cocked his head back.

" You speaking for me now?"

" Am I wrong? I'm sorry for assuming."

" You good, shorty. This you right here?"

You looked at the two flat condo, with a garage and driveway.

" Yeah, are you busy?"

You was hoping that he would ask to take you upstairs. But Duke was more of a man than that.

" Naw, this our first date. I really like you, but I wanna take things slow. Do another date sometime soon." He expressed, catching you off guard with his maturity.

" You really aren't like those others." You smiled.

" Others? Baby I pride myself on being an upstanding man." Duke flexed his collar.

" Ok, Mr. Man. Call me."

" Can I get a hug though?"

You smirked, wrapping your arms around his neck while he laced his big strong hands around your waist.

The hug was gentle and firm and you just wanted to melt in his arms.

After letting go you looked at him one good time. Your lady bits tingling. It's been a while.

" Don't look at me like dat girl." Duke laughed, trying to play off that he was whole time trying not to take you down.

" You know my number. Call me." You reminded him.

The sexual tension was there, and you couldn't wait for that second date. But you also felt good that you ran into a guy that wasn't about your body. Atl was a dangerous place to date.

You got that Goodnight 🥰 text, only for you to follow it up with a same to you and smiling once your head hit your pillow.
