Chapter 8: Date Night

X slowly walked down the empty street. He had a gazed look in his eyes as he walked slowly, his head slightly lowered.

The sound of sirens would soon fill his ears as police cars, fire trucks, and ambulances rushed by him. He watched them for a second or two before continuing his walk.

Eventually he would reach his neighborhood, seeing his house down the street.

As he grew closer to it, he saw there were red and blue flashing lights with multiple people outside of his house.

One of the people outside was his mother, and although he wasn't sure, it seemed like she was crying.

One of the people who were speaking with his mother turned their heads, noticing X. The man then shouted to the other people there, pointing in X's direction.

X let out a small sigh before turning around and starting to walk the other direction, away from his home.

He heard the sound of cars starting as sirens began blaring again.

Slowly, he removed the backpack he was carrying, sliding it down his shoulders. He carefully unzipped it, reaching inside and pulling out a small, handheld gun. He zipped his backpack up once more, putting it back on his shoulders.

He hovered his finger over the trigger of the weapon, turning around as the cars quickly approached.

X slowly woke up from his nap, being greeted by the sound of rain smacking against his window. He slowly got up, looking out his window to see the sky of Neo city has been swallowed by gray clouds. The sound of rain hitting the window was all he could really hear.

He reached down and picked up his phone on a nearby night stand of his, looking to see the time. He saw it was 6:30. Not much time to get ready but should be enough.

He rubbed his eyes before grabbing some clothes out of a box and going inside the bathroom to get changed.

He slowly pulled up in front of Yuki's house, with her having texted him the address. Stepping out of his car, he made his way up to her front door, giving it a gentle knock.

As he waited, he could hear footsteps approaching the door before finally seeing the knob of it turn. Yuki opened the door, looking stunning. Her brown hair was beautifully done with her wearing a white sweater and black sweat pants.

"You look...nice." X said, a little shy. Yuki just smiled up at him, giving him a little boop on his nose. "You don't look too bad yourself, Y'know." She replied, before grabbing an umbrella that was sitting in her houses and entry way and stepping out into the rain, beginning to walk over to X's car.

X looked down at the outfit he was wearing. A bluish-gray t-shirt with a white vest. Personally, he didn't think he looked all that good.

After a few a seconds he snapped out of his train of thought, heading towards his car where Yuki was already waiting.

His car slowly drew to a stop. Turning the car off, the tires that once hovered below it now lowered and touched the ground.

X slowly got out of his car, along with Yuki. "Come on." He said, walking over to an around 3 foot tall stone wall. Yuki walked over to him. Looking out past the wall, she was able to see the large majority of Neo city. All the dozens upon dozens of sky scrapers being illuminated by their own lights.

"Always heard this was a beautiful view." X said, slowly turning his head to Yuki. Yuki turned her head to him as well, smiling. "It is" she said, leaning against the stone wall.
