Somewhere in Wintertown–Afternoon...

"Dammit!" A blonde boy cried out after his arrow missed the target center on the tree.

Lucian, his five friends, Benny Norbury, Brom Jarrow, Jason Ormsby, Hector Paxton, and his cousin Rody Norwood, is having a small archery contest somewhere in Wintertown. These five friends are good and close friends of his and his family.

Everyone began laughing at Benny's complaint after he missed his target.

"What's the matter, Ben?" Brom mockingly says. "Your aim seems a bit off. You've been jerking off lately." He grins.

"Shut your mouth, you overgrown bear." Benny looked at him mockingly with a stink glare. "You're one to talk when I saw you gossiping at those two redhead girls."

Brom raised his hands. "What's wrong with that? Two is better than one, my friend. And besides, I love the taste of redheads. Or is it that you're jealous?" He smirks at his blonde friend.

The others kept silent as they looked at the two, having a friendly argument. Lucian was leaning against a tree, looking at the two amusedly.

"Jealous?" Benny scoffed. "I'm trying to save you from your mother. If she finds out you've been fucking two girls and sired any bastards on one of them. She'll lock you up in a chest and bury you somewhere a hundred feet in the ground."

"Ha!" Brom laughed. "If she could try. My mother only barks when she's angry."

Jason bumps into the conversation. "You sure about that?" He raised his eyebrow mockingly. "Then why did I see your mother almost ripped out that ear of yours while you're begging her like a little whiny pup?"

Everyone started to laugh after Jason shot at Brom. On the other hand, Brom just gave him an annoying glare and a smirk.

"Fucker." Brom mutters.

Jason gave Brom a friendly pat on the back. Benny looks at Lucian, who is just minding his own business.

"Lucian," Benny approaches him. "How come you haven't joined the game? Shy now, are we?" The blond boy mockingly grins.

The black-haired boy shook his head. "No. I don't want to ruin the fun by beating you guys. You know how good I am with a bow."

"Don't forget about me, cousin," Rody called out as he shot his arrow at his target.

"Right," Lucian responded with a slight grin, then turned to Benny. "How's your father? I've heard he had a little accident on Kingsroad while riding home."

"He's alright. His left leg got hit pretty hard on the fall. He could still work, but he can't run or fight." Benny answered.

"That's good to hear. At least your father is doing well." He pats Benny's shoulder.

"Aye. Thank the gods."

Hector, who was watching them, approached the two. Seeing one of their friends approaching, Lucian calls out to him.

"Hector."

"Lucian." He turns to Benny. "Benny."

"Hector."

"Is your father alright?"

"Aye, he is. He still works. But he can't run or fight until he recovers." Benny answered.

Hector nods. "That's good to hear."

Lucian, standing by the two, watched Jason teasing his friend Brom. He could not help but chuckle.

"What are you laughing at, Lucian?" Hector asks.

Lucian motions at Jason and Brom. "Those two brutes., over there." Benny and Hector looked at the two brutes. "They're bickering at each other like two angry bear couples."
