Today, I was heading to the orphanage for some important work.

"Mrs. Shetty, you go ahead and discuss the issue with Mrs. Sadhna Shah" I instructed my PA before she left.

I needed to make an urgent call, so I headed toward the secluded fountain area.

As I spoke on the call, a voice caught my attention, a soft, feminine voice that was like honey, smooth and hypnotic.

I couldn’t help but be drawn to it.

Unable to resist, I slowly walked toward the direction of the voice.

There, I spotted two girls.

A small girl sat on the bench, while the girl singing was seated on the ground, facing her.

I could only see her long, beautiful hair, cascading down, partially covered by a transparent dupatta. The delicate flow of her hair and the soft melody that surrounded her captivated me, and for a moment, I was lost in the tranquility of the scene.

Ho Ishq Ka Rang Safed Piya
Na Chhal Na Kapat Na Bhed Piya
Sau Rang Mile Tu Ek Varga
Phir Aatish Hoya Reit Piya Reit Piya

Hearing those four lines, I stopped dead in my tracks. It felt as though time had paused, and all that mattered in that moment was the sound of her voice and the connection I couldn’t quite explain.

As she ran toward the gate, I quickly approached the little girl. "Babydoll, who is that girl?" I asked.

The girl shrugged, signaling she didn’t know.

Then, she gestured that she couldn’t speak, and my heart softened immediately.

I called out to her, "Suniye," and she stopped, giving me a brief moment of relief.

Her face was covered, but her dark brown eyes locked with mine, and time seemed to freeze.

My heart raced as I stared into her captivating gaze. Just as I was about to approach, her phone rang, and she ran.

I started to follow but stopped when I felt a small tug on my suit.

My eyes met the most innocent gaze. "Hey, babydoll, do you know the girl who's singing?" I asked, pointing to where she had disappeared.

Priya nodded, took out her notebook, and wrote, "My name is not babydoll. I am Priya."

I chuckled, reading it. "No, for me, you’re always babydoll" I said, playfully pinching her small nose, and she nodded in agreement.

I bent down on my knees to match her height, smiling warmly at Priya. "You’re so adorable, Priya," I said softly, still feeling the pull of her innocent presence.

I patted Priya’s soft hair, but stopped when I heard Mrs. Shah’s voice.

"Khamma ghani, Yuvraj sa" she greeted warmly.
