In a gloomy boring town there was a boring girl. She had her own thoughts on life and was rather opinionated. She kept to herself at school just like everyone else in her town. There was no fun here or none that she had found or seen. No kids played pranks and it seemed as if there was never laughter filling the streets. Maybe that's just the way she saw the world. This day was no different as she got ready for school her parents greeting her with the same frowns they always had on

"Good morning Jane" there's silence after Jane's mother speaks before Jane mutters a good morning back. She doesn't talk to her family much, they just aren't very close and it has never bothered any of the family members in any way. Eventually the girl leaves the house walking down the same road she always does and walking through the forest. She sees animals most days but never bothers to try and walk over to one as she knows they'll run away. Eventually she'll reach her school though and she'll walk in a little later then she should be.

She'll then walk into her classroom and look at the students filling it. Everyone's frowning. Is it just cause everyone hates school or is it because this is always how it is? No one knows. Jane goes through her day as silent as a mouse cause no one here talks at least not that she hears and at the end of the day she'll walk back through the woods when she hears the sound of a bird. She turns her head to see a bird laying on the ground in bad condition.

She walks over to it kneeling down frowning cause she doesn't know what to do. She stares down at it sadly before she hears a voice.

"Oh- who are you?"

Jane looks over at the sound of a voice. It's a boy. He's decently tall and he has a smile on his face and it's so weird to Jane's eyes cause she's never seen a person who seems so full of joy. He has brown curly hair and has glasses, he has a nice sense in style to and he is holding a box with a blanket in it. He has a glove on and it's then Jane realizes what he's about to do. "Jane." Replies to the boys last question He moves next to Jane kneeling down next to her looking at the bird and setting the box down. "Poor bird fell out of its nest." He murmurs to probably himself he seems to slightly ignore Jane's last words.

"What are you doing out here, Jane?" He asks as he picks up the bird gently and she frowns cause she wanted to be the one to save the poor bird. "I walk this way home" he nods in response as he puts the small baby bird that cries in pain with every movement in the box putting the blanket on its body. "You seem rather sad Jane" he says and she finds the way he speaks funny she doesn't hear many people talk with the word rather much but Jane can't really say anything cause she hasn't heard people speak much at all every since she was young. "Hm. I was wishing to help this bird but it seems you got here before me."

Jane answers honestly cause she doesn't find a point in lying and she doesn't think she ever will. "Well, if it makes you feel better I can't keep the bird at my house anyway. My parents would yell at me."
The boy looks at her and Jane tilts her head to the side, their eye contact seemingly lasting forever. "So what were you gonna do with it?" I ask with the same tone she usually has. this boy is oddly quiet as he thinks of his answer. "I'm not sure." He responds and she realizes this boy is bit of an airhead. How does a person save a bird without knowing what they'll do with it. In her mind she found it rather idiotic not to think ahead but let it go. She's lost in their thoughts when she hears "you can take care of it though. Just promise not to actually take care of it and put it back when it's fully ok."

She pauses and looks at him zoning back in as he stands back up the box in his arms and he gestures her to stand up to, which she does and he gives another one of those bright smiles. For some reason those smiles make her feel somewhat sick she just isn't use to it but she wishes to understand it so desperately. "Let me walk you home."
She seems to snap back to reality fully with those words and she looks up at him. "You really don't have-" he stops her and gives that stupid smile again and says "trust me it's fine,I just wanna make sure the bird gonna be ok" she refuses the urge to sigh but nods as she starts her way back through the forest him not leaving her side.

"Im Sam by the way, My friends call me Sammy though" he says to break the silence and she nods "hello Sam" he seems to smile at her saying hello randomly. "Hello" he says back his smile still not leaving as they continue walking. Eventually they stop in front of her house and he gently hands her the box. "Take care of it. I'll come check on it every once in awhile" Jane listens looking up at the taller boy finding herself upset at what she just signed herself up for but she nods and it's silent for a moment "what should we name it?" He asks excitedly like a child. So happy and that's something Jane's never seen before in this town and to her it feels slightly unreal and she's debating if she's hallucinating this happy boy. "Uh- I'm not sure" Jane says and the boy gives a small sigh. "Well tell me when you come up with one" he says happily before he turns his back to her after he gives a small wave as he walks away mentioning how he'll see her at school on Monday
