~The second Jo was settled back home, she went to see Y/N.

Y/N was just sitting there, a bit uncomfortably, as Jo just cried and cried into her arms.

She began to stroke her best friends hair, "You know, at least you tried, right? Maybe Akaashi isn't the one for you. Maybe you-"

"No! I don't want to go on anymore dates that aren't with him! I love him Y/N! Genuinely! I love him more than anything!" Jo cried.

Y/N sighed.

And to make this worse, Akaashi began to call her.

Lucky, she flipped her phone faced down before Jo could see who it was.

Her crying face looked up, "Who is it?"

"Huh? Oh it's just my mom I'll call her later."

"Y/N, please, you have to talk to him for me."

"Jo I really don't think it's my place to-"

"Please. I am begging you. This is the man I want to marry. The man I want to spend the rest of my life with! Please you have to help me.."

As much as she wanted to tell her no because she and Akaashi have gotten a bit romantic with each other,

Jo looked so broken and devastated that she couldn't help but give in,

"Fine. I'll do what I can. I'm not promising anything so don't get mad at me if he tells me no."

Jo smiled her first smile all day, "Thank you! And I won't get mad I promise! Just, thank you! Can you do it today? Are you working today?"

"Um, I called off because I wanted to be here with you. I'm-"

"Text him! Tell him you wanna meet when he's off!"

Y/N blinked, "Yeah, sure."

"I'm gonna use the bathroom real quick I feel like all this crying is gonna make me throw up."

She left Y/N and she called him back, "Hey, now's not really a good time. Jo's here."

"Oh sorry. I was just gonna ask if you wanted to get dinner later. There's a place a couple miles from my job and it's really lowkey."

She smiled, "Sounds perfect."

"Good, text me when she leaves so I know it's okay to pick you up when I'm off."

"Okay I will. See you in a little while then."

"See you in a bit. Bye."

When she hung up, Jo came back out, "Who was that?"

"Akaashi."

Her eyes lit up, "What'd he say?! Are you meeting to talk?!"

"Yeah, i'm gonna talk to him later."

"Oh good! I'm gonna go home now. I wanna make sure everything looks perfect if he wants to come over and talk after you're done. Thank you Y/N!"

Jo grabbed her coat and bag, kissed Y/N on the head and quickly left.

Y/N slumped into her couch.

How is she supposed to tell her sort of boyfriend to take his ex fiance back?

She looked at the time and realized Akaashi was gonna get out of work soon so she fixed herself up a bit.

When he picked her up from her place, he could tell she wasn't in a good mood.

Once they were seated, he grabbed her hand, "Hey, what's wrong? Why does my beautiful date have a frown on her face?"

"Jo wants me to talk to you."

"Okay? About?"

"About you taking her back."

He pulled his hand away, "Y/N, I made it perfectly clear to her that-"

"I know, I know. I'm sorry it's just... she wouldn't stop crying and she's my best friend. How am I supposed to tell her no?"

"So you're gonna sit here and talk to me about how i should get back with Jo during our entire date? Cause Y/N i'll save you the trouble by saying 'no, i will not take her back' right now." He questioned her.

They stared at each other in silence for a bit.

Y/Ns lips pressed into a thin line, "No, you're right. I'm sorry. I told her it wasn't my place to get in the middle of this but..."

Akaashi leaned over the table and softly pressed his lips against hers, giving her a short, sweet kiss, "I know you're just trying to be a good friend and I admire that about you but I want to be with you. Not her."

She smiled, "Okay, whatever. I'll just tell her I made no progress in changing your mind. Now, what do you recommend getting?"
