Chapter 30

After Duryodhan allowed mohini to show them the proof, Mohini immediately went to Dusshala's room to investigate, she remembers Dusshala writting something while she was packing her stuff. It must be somewhere!!

After searching like a maniac, she sat down in the middle of the room, hair messy, tears stained cheeks, she was frustrated. Where is it?!

She swallowed a lump in her throat and took a deep breath, tears again started to well up in her eyes, ‘why is everything going wrong in every possible way!’ she thought.

Her eyes again started to roam around the messy room, suddenly she checked the the drawer of the bed side table. There it is! She found it ! She jumped in happiness and ran outside of the room, guards again followed her to the court room.

“I found it !” she shouted as she ran into the court room, “i found it!” she again declared. She looked at Duryodhan and walks towards him and emotionally hands him the letter. “it's written for you..” a tear fell down as told him that. Duryodhan swallowed the lump forming is his throat as he looked at Mohini and then the letter, the whole court room was silent as Duryodhan read the following letter.

Dear Bhrata Suyodhan,

               I am sorry you had to find out these things in this manner, but I was scared, scared of Bhrata Sushashan, Scared of your reputation being tarnished, scared of the reaction of our parents, and at last scared of the consequences that Dev would have to go through. This was last option, running away, I know, running away means being a coward and not being able to face the problem, but tell me Bhrata would you have agreed on the relationship between me and Devarth?

I don't know the answer to that but if you forgive Mohini, I will take that you have agreed on my happiness. Please don't blame Mohini for what she did, she just helped a girl to find her happiness, she is not at fault.

Take care of her and the family especially pitashree, he is not taking medications on time as prescribed by the vediya. And tell Mata to not worry about me, and ....Bhrata Sushashan..take care of him too.

Duryodhan fell down as read the letter, ‘were did I go wrong? How can my sister be scared of me? She could not even share her feelings to her own brother ’ he silently cried, clutching the letter to his heart.

“Will anyone tell me what is happening?!” Dhritarashtra voice rang in the whole room as he was really impatient, how can he not, it's about his daughter.

His helper told the whole situation to the king, his eyes widened in disbelief, his daughter couldn't even share her feelings towards him. “But it's still wrong!” Dusshashan interrupted, his ego hurt by the slap, he knew what he was doing was wrong, but as people know, there nothing more fragile in the world is than man's ego.

Everyone is sabha suddenly started telling maharaj tha what Dusshashan is saying is a actually right, Mohini frowned, wasn't everybody supporting her minutes ago?

“What she did was wrong! And she should be punished for it!” Dusshashan again stated the same fact, What all didn't notice was a raging Jaydrath, he was shaking in anger, he is disrespected, how can a mere girl disrespect him? How dare she?

“All of you quiet!” Jaydrath roared, shushing everyone. He glared at Mohini who silently observing him. “This girl right over here has disrespected me by makingy bride run away before my wedding!” he shouted. “and as per rule, if anybody disrespects the guests, he or she is definitely punished! So, tell Maharaj what punishment are you giving this girl?” he finished with dangerous tone, putting his hands behind his back, glaring at Mohini with hatred.

Dhritarashtra was stuck, as per the letter the girl helped his daughter to find her happiness but the reason that Jaydrath gave was also correct, “i would like to take the opinion of the members of the sabha.” he completed.

Few agreed on the punishment but few also were on the favour of Mohini, it was like fifty were on the favour of Mohini and fifty against her.

Everyone turned to Duryodhan for his opinion but his was too numb to answer, so at last everyone turned to Yuddhishtir for his opinion, he looked surprised, Pitamah Bhishm signalled him to state his opinion, he was helpless now, how can go against his Mohini, who helped his sister. The other four brothers also expected their older brother to say in the favour of Mohini, especially Arjun, as what she did was to help their baby sis.

“I..I agree with Sindhu naresh as he is disrespected by Hastinapur..” said looking down, not able to look at Mohini, he knew shouldn't have done that, but what can he do? He couldn't go against dharma, it's what his value says.

Everyone was shocked to hear Yuddhishtir's words, Kunti almost fainted thinking of the consequences, so did Draupadi, she was almost sobbing. The brothers were shocked with their older brother's answer, how can he?

“As by the opinion of the last person, it is decided that the girl will be punished?” Dhritarashtra ordered, Dusshashan and Jaydrath smirked evilly hearing the verdict.

“The girl will be whipped for 20 times infront the whole shabha right this instance!” The king declared.
