CASSANDRA's POV
"Wake up now, Sandra. You've been sleeping for almost 10 years. . ."
"They are waiting for you outside. . ."
I furrowed my brow at what I heard in my mind. Slowly, I opened my eyes. A dark room greeted me. I was currently in a soft and large bed.
I sat up from lying down and got off the bed. I stood in front of a mirror to assess my appearance.
"C-Cassandra. . ." bulong ko.
My body has changed. My previous small and childlike body has transformed into that of a young woman. The length of my hair remains the same, reaching only up to my waist.
There's a significant change in my appearance. My face has become perfect, with a prominent straight nose and pink lips below. My eyes are large, and the color has changed; my once chocolate eyes are now hazel.
I gently touched my cheeks. 10 years akong natulog?
I headed to my closet to find a dress to wear. I chose a perfect red dress that fits my body well, accentuating my curves.
It's an off-shoulder dress, and I styled my hair up to the top of my ears and pinned it across the back of my head. I also added two strands of hair on my forehead.
I searched for accessories to adorn myself. I picked a necklace featuring a pendant that splits into a moon and two gold earrings.
Maaalala pa kaya nila ako?
I asked myself while looking in the mirror. There was no light inside, so I decided to open the large window near my bed. I turned the lock, and it quickly opened. The strong wind greeted me. I was sure it was still noon as many wolves and vampires roamed not far away.
I walked towards the door to open it when suddenly I heard voices speaking downstairs.
"Where's your beautiful lovely daughter, Caspian? I'm sure na mas lalo lang siyang gumanda dahil ilang taon na rin yung nakalipas nang huli ko siyang nakita." rinig kong wika ng isang babaeng bampira.
Itinapat ko yung tenga ko para marinig ng maayos yung pag-uusap nila.
"She's. . . not here." rinig kong sagot ni Papa sa kaniya.
No, 'Pa. . . I'm always here.
Mukhang nasa pagpupulong sila sa ibaba. Hindi ko na narinig yung pag-uusap nila nang agad kong binuksan yung pinto. Isang tahimik na hall way ang tumambad sa'kin.
Many things have changed here because Mama has added many new decorations and family paintings. Despite being asleep for several years, I still remember the winding paths in our mansion.
I walked for a few minutes when I heard noises coming from downstairs. I hid behind a wall to see where the noise was coming from.
I couldn't help but smile as I saw the entire Amora family downstairs. Mama, Papa, Grandpa, Grandma, and the rest of the Amora family were there.
I left my previous intention and slowly made my way to the long staircase leading downstairs.
At first, they didn't notice me, but as I took two steps down, they fell silent and looked at me.
Nang makababa ako ay agad kong hinanap sina Mama at Papa. Napangiti ako bahagya nang makita silang nakatingin sa 'kin.
"C-Cassandra?" unang nagsalita si Mama at agad na napahagulgol nang iyak.
"Ma. . . Pa. . ." agad na nagsipuntahan sila sa'kin at niyakap ako ng mahigpit.
"A-Anak." ani Papa.
Niyakap ko naman sila pabalik. Hindi ko mapigilan na mapaiyak at maisip ang kalagayan nila nang nasa loob pa ako ng silid na iyon. Hindi ko maisip yung pinagdaanan nila nang hindi ko sila ipinagbuksan ng pinto.
But, gladly. . . Natapos din ang lahat ng iyon.
Kumalas kami sa pagyayakapan at tinignan nila ako. Kita sa mga mata nila yung tuwa dahil sa pagbabalik ko, at ganun din ako.
"Ang ganda mo, Cassandra, anak." komento ni Mama nang nakatingin sa 'kin.
Kayo rin, Ma. There was no change in Papa's appearance as he still looked youthful, and Mama was still as radiant as ever.
The other members of the Amora family quickly left to give us privacy. They disappeared from my sight, and my gaze landed on a red liquid near me.
Without hesitation, I drank it, and I suddenly felt fangs emerge from my mouth and my eye color changed.
Naramdaman kong lumapit sina Mama at Papa sa'kin at hinaplos ang bahagya ang buhok ko. "Akala namin hindi mo na kami pagbubuksan." naluluhang ani Mama.
Bumalik sa dating kulay ang mga mata ko. "I'm sorry, Ma, Pa. . . H-Hindi ko nga po alam kung bakit ko i-iyon nagawa, kusa nalang akong nakatulog at buti nalang nagising ako kani-kanina lang. . ." paliwanag ko at napatango naman sila.
That mysterious event happened to me unexpectedly. I couldn't recall why it happened; all I knew was that my sleep was deep and peaceful because no one woke me up. But I suspect that it happened on purpose.
"You've changed a lot, Sandra," I smiled sweetly when Dad called me by my nickname.
It is, Dad.
Napatawa nalang ako bago niyakap ulit sila.
With the new day comes new strength and new thoughts.
