My heart was thumping out of my body. He kissed me! He kissed me? My mind went blank, did he kiss me. My mind swirled around and it all went black. It took me 20 seconds to adjust my eyes to the ceiling. The sound of ringing in my ear woke me up from my slumber. Oh damn it I thought. It was another dream.
I tapped the snooze button and went back to sleep hoping I could carry on the moment just one more time. Nothing. To my dismay, I woke up and got dressed. I've never had a dream like that before.
I walked down the stairs and got some breakfast. I glanced at the clock. 7:30. Crap we're leaving in 30 minutes.
My dad has to leave for work at 8:00 which means for me and my sister, we've got to be ready on time and not a minute later.
I stuffed my cereal down my mouth and went
upstairs. I don't ever wear makeup to school but I still make an effort to look presentable.
My phone vibrated on my desk.
It was anonymous
"I know your family's secret"
My gut told me this was just some scammer that's going to make me pay for them to keep their mouth shut or something. But that didn't stop my heart from dropping. I know my family doesn't have a secret. We are the most ordinary family in the world. Were like the 'it' family of our village. This message still didn't sit right with me. I went onto the message and blocked the number.
I finally finished getting dressed and stuffed all my school stuff into my bag.
"Maeve are you ready yet?" Calls my dad. Shit. I'm so not ready yet.
"Coming right down!" My heart beat out my body and I legged it down the stairs. The car engine was already running so I smushed my feet into my shoes and got in the car.
Phew
Another fucking school day.
