Third Person POV
After the laughter died down, the group decided it was time for dinner. They all headed to a nearby restaurant, looking forward to a hearty meal and more stories.
As they settled into a cozy corner booth, the atmosphere was filled with light-hearted banter and the clinking of glasses. Shoyo, seated between Izuki and Aran, looked around at his friends, feeling a warm sense of contentment.
Midway through their meal, the door to the restaurant opened, and a tall figure with striking features walked in. He had an air of confidence and familiarity that made Shoyo do a double-take.“Hey, sunflower!” the newcomer called out, causing Shoyo to nearly choke on his drink. Everyone turned to see who had spoken, curiosity piqued.
Shoyo’s eyes widened in recognition. “Seiji?” he exclaimed, a mixture of surprise and delight in his voice.
Seiji made his way to their table, a grin spreading across his face. “Long time no see, Shoyo. Didn’t expect to find you here.”
The others looked between Shoyo and Seiji, sensing a history but unsure of the details.
Izuki, ever the curious one, leaned in. “Sunflower, huh? What’s the story there?”
Shoyo blushed slightly, scratching the back of his head. “It’s... well, Seiji used to call me that when we were kids. Something about always turning towards the sun.”
Seiji laughed, ruffling Shoyo’s hair affectionately. “Yeah, you were always so bright and full of energy. Still are, it seems.”
Aran, intrigued, gestured for Seiji to join them. I can't argue with that ...“So, how do you two know each other?”
Seiji took a seat, glancing at Shoyo before answering. “We go way back. Grew up in the same neighborhood, played volleyball together before life took us in different directions.”
As they were catching up, the restaurant door opened again. The twins, Ren and Kei, having just been discharged from the hospital, walked in with matching grins. Spotting Shoyo and the rest of the group, they eagerly made their way over.
“Daddy!” the twins exclaimed in unison, running up to Seiji and hugging him tightly.
Seiji’s eyes softened as he knelt down to their level, hugging them back. “Hey, my little champs. How are you feeling?”
The others looked on in surprise, the pieces of the puzzle starting to come together. Shoyo couldn’t help but smile at the tender scene.
“They call you daddy?” Osamu asked, a mix of surprise and curiosity in his voice.
Seiji chuckled, nodding. “Yeah, they’ve always called me that, even though I’m technically their uncle. Just something that stuck.”
The twins, now comfortably seated with Seiji, looked around the table with wide, curious eyes. Ren, the orange-haired twin, turned to Seiji with a serious expression.
“Uncle Seiji, are you going to marry Daddy Shoyo?” Ren asked innocently, causing the entire table to fall silent.
Shoyo’s face turned a deep shade of red, and he quickly looked away, trying to hide his embarrassment.
Seiji, slightly taken aback, gave a gentle smile. “Well, that’s a big question, Ren. Why do you ask?”
Ren shrugged, looking between Seiji and Shoyo. “Because you always take care of us and make Daddy happy. I think you should.”
The room was filled with a mix of amused and touched expressions. Izuki nudged Shoyo playfully. “Looks like you have a matchmaker in the family.”
Shoyo, still blushing, managed a shy smile. “Ren, it’s a bit more complicated than that, but thank you for looking out for me.”
Seiji ruffled Ren’s hair affectionately. “We’ll see, little guy. Right now, let’s just enjoy dinner, okay?”
The others, except Izuki and Aran, exchanged jealous glances. It was clear that Seiji’s close relationship with Shoyo stirred feelings of envy among them. Each had hoped to be the one making Shoyo happy and sharing such intimate moments.
Atsumu, unable to hold back, leaned closer to Shoyo. “Hey, Sho, didn’t know you had someone like Seiji in your life.
Shoyo smiled apologetically. “There’s a lot you don’t know yet, Atsumu. But Seiji’s been a part of my life for a long time.”
Osamu, trying to mask his jealousy, added, “Well, it’s good to know you have someone you can rely on.”
Suna, usually quiet, muttered under his breath, “Yeah, really good.”
Kita, feeling the tension, tried to lighten the mood. “So, Seiji, got any embarrassing stories about Shoyo from back in the day?”
Seiji grinned, launching into a tale that had Shoyo groaning and the others laughing, their jealousy momentarily forgotten.
