Henry and Rylee had been in the car for twenty minutes and so far it's been the best twenty minutes of Henry's life.

Twenty Minutes Ago

Henry and Rylee had been talking the entire time they've been in the car.

Rylee was just so easy going, it made it so easy for Henry to open up and start asking questions about her life. It was even better when Rylee showed interest in him and started asking questions about his life.

When the conversation slowed and it was obvious nothing else was going to be said, Rylee turned on her radio.

🎶 "Do you ever feel like a plastic bag
Drifting through the wind, wanting to start again?
Do you ever feel, feel so paper thin
Like a house of cards, one blow from cavin' in?" 🎶 the voice of Katy Perry started blasting.

Henry looked at the radio confused, " I've never heard of this song."

Rylee gasped, "Really? I love this song." Rylee then turnes the volume up.

Rylee started singing along with the radio. Her voice singing every note perfectly.

Henry laughed when Rylee turned to him, pointing as she started singing.

🎶 "Cause baby, you're a firework
Come on, show 'em what you're worth
Make 'em go, "Oh, oh, oh"
As you shoot across the sky
Baby, you're a firework
Come on, let your colors burst
Make 'em go, "Oh, oh, oh"
You're gonna leave 'em all in awe, awe, awe!" 🎶

Rylee and Henry laughed and sang along with the song until it was over.

The two did this for the next few songs that played.

Present

Henry smiled at Rylee when she wasn't looking. Or at least he thought she wasn't looking until she turned to him with a smile. "Is there a reason you keep staring at me?"

Henry blushes in embarrassment at bring caught. "I'm just glad you reacted well to me and that you didn't treat me like a random kid."

Rylee laughed with a roll of her eyes. "Why would I? You're my son."

Henry's eyes sparkled when he heard that.

He loved his mother, Regina, dearly and he's thankful that she raised him but he always wanted to have a relationship with his biological mother.

She was already everything he thought she'd be.

"What's that?" Rylee asks, curious about whatever her son is holding.

Henry stares at her before looking back at the book. After looking at the book, he looks up at her. Almost like he was searching for something.

Whatever it was, he must have found because he nodded his head. "I think you're ready for it."

Rylee let's let's out a slight laugh, "I'll be ready for anything you throw at me."

"It's a book of fairytales, right?" Rylee asks, glancing at the cover of the book before looking back at the road.

Henry shook his head a little.. "They're not fairy tales. They're true. Every story in this book actually happened."

Rylee raises an eyebrow at him, "While I love fairy tales, I can't just believe that they're real."

Henry gets a sad look on his face as he looks down, but that disappears when he hears her next words.
