Asi was still standing in the huge empty office, the shock not leaving her face. She was struggling to fully comprehend that she had come back from the dead when she was hit by another surprise. The manager of their department, Alaz Bey, who had always scared everyone with his cold and strict attitude, appeared from nowhere and hugged her tightly as his life was hanging on her. For a second, it seemed to Asi that there were tears in his eyes when she broke free from his arms.

There was something heartbreaking in his expression, as if he didn't believe his eyes, as if he was consuming every millimeter of Asi's face. It was as if he was afraid that any movement would make her disappear, as if he had seen a ghost.

Dread came to Asi's face. Was it possible that Alaz Bey knew she had died?

"Sacmalama, Asi," she chided herself. "Of all people, why would he know? How could he even know?"

She put her hand on her loudly beating heart, trying to calm it, and took deep breaths to gather herself. He must have really scared him.

Asi's phone rang once again, and she reluctantly answered it. She had no wish to talk to her scumbag husband or her traitorous so-called best friend, but she had to. If she wanted to live this life and get free from them, she had to somehow deal with them.

"Alo?"

"Asi, kızım, where are you? I've been calling you since the morning. I was getting worried," Sude's voice came through the telephone.

Asi had to suppress the nausea that took over just by hearing Sude's voice. She answered, sounding as natural as she could, "Nothing to worry about. I just left my phone in my bag and didn't even hear you calling."

"Ah, okay, if you say so. By the way, where are you? I wonder if I could come to you and we could go to the office toge—"

"No need, I'm already at the office."

"Why so early? Did someth—"

"No, I just had some work. I need to hang off" Asi interrupted her once again.

"But—"

Asi ended the call without listening further. Even talking to her felt like torture. How would she handle seeing their faces and pretending everything was okay? But she had to do it. She would put them in their places; she would make them pay for every tear and every lonely day. She would make them pay for her miserable death.

It was April 2021, which meant that soon Bora would propose to her. She would reveal their true faces in front of everyone, showing the world how disgraceful they were. She just needed some patience. First, she needed to find out if they were already having an affair. Even if they weren't, she was sure that all they needed was a little push.

"Good morning, Asi."

Asi jumped and turned around to see Emir, her colleague. She didn't dare to say a word and just waited for Emir's reaction. Emir behaved normally; there was no sign of shock or fear on his face. Even more, after seeing Asi's state, he came closer and asked,

"Asi, are you okay?" Asi nodded. "You sure? Your face is white as if you had seen a ghost."

Asi burst into laughter at his words but, noticing Emir's confused face, hurried to fix the situation.

"No, no, I'm okay, just lost in thoughts."

"Okay then", Emir shrugged his shoulders and went to his place.
