Chapter 11
"Cameron! Cameron!" An unknown voice yelled.
Cameron's eyes under his Visor opened. His Visor blinked on, and he was able to see. He slowly turned his head toward the unknown voice, which was revealed to be his father, with a doctor standing next to him. Callie is on the right side of the bed, holding Cameron's hand.
"Ugh..why am I tied to the bed? Am I in Hell?" Cameron groaned, still loopy from the anesthesia.
"No, young man. You are in recovery from being stabbed." The doctor stepped up next to the rim of the bed.
"That sounds like something the devil would say! Count backwards from 100 to prove you're not Satan! Leave me soul alone!" Cameron moaned.
The doctor seemed unphased while Callie and Rowan laughed.
"This is a common side effect of anesthesia. Anywho, he was stabbed in his deltoid, as you can clearly see from the stitching. A very odd place for a stab wound, but it's happened before."
"Wait, I was stabbed?" Cameron looks at the doctor as if he didn't know what had happened previously.
"Yeah, by someone named Ryan Hughes according to this young lady." The doctor turns to Callie. "I would consider a lawyer and bring charges on this guy."
"Wait, Callie, do you have a lawyer?" Rowan asks.
"Nope, the best I could afford is a public defender. I need my money to live solo."
"Very well, I suppose you'll be wanting to attend the courtroom as a plaintiff for sexual assault?"
"Yes, I'll testify with you guys."
"Well, this Ryan guy may have hurt my son, but I'll be there to help Cameron if he needs the back up. He went through the pain, so I want him to be able to testify for himself."
Cameron groans a little more, reaching up with his arm that is still functional. "I told you he would do it, Dad..."
"I know you did, and I'm sorry for not listening to you. Clearly that thing DOES give you an insight into the future.."
Cameron then looks over to Callie. "You didn't believe me either."
"Because-...I-..I didn't think that-"
"Thanks for believing in me, totally." Cameron sets down his arm and sighs.
Callie looks to the side and groans.
"I'm sorry, Cammy." She sighs.
After some weeks and healing, Cameron wakes up to his alarm once more. He is back in his house, stretching and waking up in his bed. Today was now the day for Justice. His arm was still in a cast since he lost all functionality in his stab wound. It wouldn't heal for quite a while.
After putting on dress shoes, black slacks, and a suit, he combs his hair to a side part. He brushes the rest up a little, the hair sticking up in the front in a fashionable crew cut manner. Cameron then brushes his teeth, walking downstairs and packing a lunch.
"Good morning, Cam." His dad adjusts a red tie on his own suit.
"Morning, Dad. How far away is the place?"
"Only about 15 minutes. Pack some extra food, just in case this case starves you."
"Starves me? I'm already full of it! I'm so done with this Ryan guy that I hope he goes away in cuffs."
After a drive of talking and light chatter, they arrived at the courtroom. The air was tense as everybody arrived at the scene, cars parking periodically. Now all there was to do was wait. As Cameron walks inside of the courtroom, he looks around at the people who will be judging his case. Cameron looks over and sees Callie standing there in an all white suit with a bow.
