ᛏᚺᚱᛟᛚᛁᚴ I woke up on a grassy hill, staring at the distant sunrise. Down below I saw the fields of flowers and rivers intertwine with each other. I didn't bother to get up because I knew I would feel like crap. Last night me and a couple others were elected to become knights. So we threw a huge party and everyone got smashed. I was really Looking Forward to whatever the knight life had to offer someone like me.After an hour or so I stood up and did my usual morning routine. After I was done I ate breakfast and went outside with my gear in a bag. I walked to the nearby statue of "Throlik the Thunder god." I did my usual praying as was mandatory. After that I started to walk to the training grounds to join the other newly elected knights when I heard a loud crashing sound in the distance. Whatever made the sound made the ground shake and it made me tumble over with my heavy gear. It took me a second to get back up but when I did I heard another crash almost instantly. I looked in the direction of the crash and saw smoke rising in the air. I put my gear on as fast as I could and ran towards the fire as fast as possible with a heavy sword in my hands. As I got closer there were people running and screaming, But after a minute or two of straight running I saw someone... With a sword. They had a full knight suit on but they weren't from my kingdom but they had our armor but the symbol of our kingdom was covered with a big black X. They saw me and charged. They had a sword not too different from mine but they seemed a lot more comfortable with it then I was. I put my sword up in a blocking position and held my ground hoping to catch them off guard. But when I went for a surprise attack they blocked my hit and striked my chest. I laid on the ground thinking about how they knew my attack like they learned it as well. I stood back up and swung my sword with all my strength and got blocked. My sword ricocheted off theirs and flew out of my hands, I kept thinking about how they knew what attack I was going to do and when to block. Then I realized they had the same armor as me, a similar sword, and knew my attacks. They must've been a former knight. They slowly walked towards my sword, they picked it up and threw it at me like they wanted me to pick it back up and fight. I bent over to pick it back up but instead of picking it up I ran and tackled the man. He was clearly not expecting this and he was stunned for a second. Once we fell to the ground I began to punch his head. He clearly didn't know how to react since he wasn't blocking or countering. Eventually he pushed me off him but the damage was already done. His helmet was busted and you could see small drops of blood dripping out from it. He dropped his sword and began to take off his helmet. Seeing this as a chance I ran at him. I grabbed his sword and pushed him over, I lifted the sword up and swung. With one good clean cut his sword was now lodged in the top of his skull. I let go of the sword and his body dropped to the ground like a sack of potatoes. I picked my sword back up and ran towards the smoke thinking about how my first kill was one of my former comrades. On the way there I saw countless bodies and people running, it was certainly something you don't see everyday. When I got there I saw all of my friends there too. At least almost all of them.... It looked like one was missing. That's when I looked behind me and heard a "THUNK". My vision went dark. When I awoke I found that all of the friends I was looking at. Are now on the ground, lifeless. I felt a sharp pain in my chest, I looked down and saw an arrow lodged in my chest. My chest piece was dented and scratched from my fight earlier. I began to stand up, everything hurt. I began to realize there was more than an arrow in me. There were chunks of wood and stone stabbing me. It was like something had exploded and all the debris went towards me. I began to walk, It didn't matter to me anymore I just wanted to go somewhere, anywhere. All I could hear was screaming and the sound of buildings falling. Eventually I had somehow found my way to an open barn. It was tall and red, but the red looked sickly like it hadn't been repainted in a hundred years. I stumbled inside the barn, my eyes to the floor. Eventually I bumped into the wall, I sat down and leaned against the wall. I took a deep breath and began to observe my surroundings. There was a table in the middle of the room, and torches lit like someone had just been here. In the corner of my eye I saw something shine in the torchlit room. I slowly stumbled my way towards the object. When I picked it up it looked strangely familiar, then I realized. It was one of the chest pieces the knight from earlier was wearing. This must've been where they were hiding before the attack. It must've been bad luck cause not a minute later a door swings open and five people walk in. they're all wearing the same armor except for the one in the front. Their armor is mostly the same but the helmet has an X etched into it right over the left eye. They had a big black gem embedded in their left glove. They're also wearing a long red cape that has fur along the top of it. It's clear that they must be a high ranking soldier or maybe even the leader. While observing them I must've forgotten to hide because I was just standing there in the open. It didn't take very long for them to find me. I pulled out my sword ready to fight even though I knew I would most likely die in this old barn. I waited for one of them to charge me, when they did I moved to the side causing him to trip over and fall. When he tried to stand back up I kicked him in the chest slamming him into the wall. His breathing got louder and faster, It seemed like I had knocked the wind out of him. He tried to get up again but I grabbed the bottom of his helmet and slammed his head into my knee. I began to knee his head over and over again. Eventually he punched me in the gut and stood up. But it was clear the damage had been done. His movements were now slow and sluggish, and if he moved too much you would see blood spill out of his helmet. I kept dodging and dodging, eventually I was close enough to the wall where he tried to punch me but I ducked and he punched the wall. He groaned in pain but I grabbed his head and smashed it into the wall. His head went straight through blasting chunks of wood all around you. He started to try and hit me back but I grabbed on to a piece of the exposed wood and pulled it off the wall. I dodged his punch one last time and shoved the piece of wood in his throat. He fell to the floor and breathed for the last time. I stood over the now corpse, staring at the other four. I picked up my sword and charged at the one wearing the cape. They dodged my attack like I was swinging the slowest sword in the world. They kept dodging me like it was nothing. I swung but instead of going through with the swing I threw my sword at them and picked them up over my shoulders and slammed them against a nearby table. They crashed through the table and laid on the ground, they slowly started to get back up. I rushed towards them and threw a punch right at their face. They grabbed my hand and punched me in the gut. My vision went blurry and I stumbled backwards holding my stomach. I fell to the floor but I stood right back up. They charged at me and punched me right in the face. I fell to the floor, the other three knights surrounded me and aimed their swords at my throat. This was it. This was where I would die, in an old barn. The rain got louder and started hitting the ground outside much heavier. Thunder began to rumble and the world started to go quiet. I felt a sharp pain in my gut. I looked over and saw that one of the knights had stabbed me in the stomach. I didn't care anymore. What did I have to live for? All my friends were dead, my village destroyed.... Dreams ruined. I accepted the fact that I was going to die....... I was fine with it. I closed my eyes and waited, and waited, and waited, nothing happened. I didn't die, I opened my eyes and I was still alive. Then I felt something that felt like a twist in my stomach and a tingling feel in my hands. I heard a loud "BOOM" and I couldn't hear anything after that. I slowly opened my eyes and felt something cold dripping on me. I saw the roof of the barn was no longer above me and rain was pouring down on me. It looked like someone had shot a catapult at the barn which was now catching fire. I looked down and saw that the ground around me was charred black like the floor caught fire. I looked around and saw that all the knights that were surrounding me were now on the ground. It looked like they had been pushed back by something as they were all several feet away from where they previously were. I slowly began to stand up and I felt something shock my hand. It felt like when you touch your friend's shirt and it shocks you. I looked at my hand and saw a blue flash ripple across my fingers. I sat admiring what was happening when I felt another shock. A big blast of electricity shot out of my hand and hit the wall. "BOOM!" The sound was deafening and the force of the blast blew me backwards. I stood back up and realized all my wounds were healed too. I was..... Fine. The other knights began to slowly stand up, I picked up my sword and charged at one of the knights. I jumped up and kneed him in the face. He fell over again and I thrusted my sword into his gut. He groaned in pain before I pulled the sword out and swung at his head. He blocked with his arm but his blocking caused his arm to come off. I threw my sword in the air and stepped on his head. I used his head as a stepping stool and launched off him kicking his head into the ground whilst also launching me in the air. I grabbed my sword in the air and fell on him. The blade landed in his heart. He cried a sob and reached into his pocket. He pulled out a piece of paper. He held it near his heart and finally.... Let go. I picked up the paper and read it. "Honey, I wish you the best in your adventures but please oh, please don't forget about our anniversary. Come home soon, James is getting impatient and you promised to be there for his 6th birthday. Anyways just remember we both love you. Sincerely Charlotte." I pulled my sword out and began to realize. I've been killing people. I never thought about it. I never thought of them as people, just enemies. However any thought I had a second ago was now gone when one of the knights ran at me and tried to stab me. "Three left" I thought to myself. I walked towards him and swung my sword, he blocked it and swung at me. He scratched my armor some more but no serious damage. I threw a punch and hit him in the back of the head. He stumbled for a second but got right back up and threw a punch of his own. I blocked it but then I saw his sword going towards me. I'd fallen into his trap and was going to pay for it. It was clear this soldier was better trained than most of the others. He stabbed his sword into my arm causing me to groan in pain. Before he could grab his sword back I thrusted my blade into his gut. I kicked his leg causing him to fall and I took my sword back. The other knight ran at me from behind and stabbed me in the back. Again I felt a shock in my hand. I turned around and pointed the palm of my hand at the knight and fired. The blast was loud but I seemed to have already become "Immune" to it as it didn't send me backwards and didn't cause my hearing to go out. I looked at where the person had just been and realized that the only thing left of them was a splatter of blood. The barn was now really catching fire. Wood planks began to fall from the roof and spread the fire even more. I began to go towards the exit when the knight that I had stabbed in the stomach tackled me. I thrusted my sword at his chest but the sword broke and the top of it flew off. I was now left with what was now a broken dagger instead of a sword. I kicked him in the gut where I stabbed him earlier, causing him to get off me. I got on top of him and stabbed, and stabbed, and stabbed until his chest piece was completely red instead of the light gray it was before. I stood up and looked to my side. The caped one was now standing up and staring straight at me. By this point I was bleeding and hurt. I lifted up my hand and aimed my palm at them. I felt the shock in my hand just like before and released. I shot a blast of bright blue electricity straight at them. But they didn't even flinch. They raised their hand and blocked my blast. Their hand had a dark aura around it. They charged at me so fast I didn't even realize they had moved until they were right in front of me. They punched me in the chest and I was launched back. I flew through the barn wall and kept going until I landed in the woods nearby. Even though I landed I still flew through a tree or two. My whole body hurts. I could barely lift a finger. I turned my head to the side and saw the barn in the distance. Bright orange from the fire. I saw the knight still in the barn just, looking in my direction. But then, the barn began to collapse and fell. It had crushed the knight, hopefully killing them.
