It’s been a week since our summer vacation started. The summer heat is draining all of my energy so I always end up lying in the bed all day, watching Itazura na Kiss. I have always loved this anime series. The story is just so fantastic and how the romance developed is so amazing. I always repeat watching this and I never get tired of it.
The story revolves around Naoki and Kyoko. It all started when Kotoko gives a love letter to Naoki but he rejects it. Naoki is a perfect guy. He has a very high IQ, good in sports, belongs to a wealthy family and on top of all, he’s handsome and tall. But, the only thing is that he is a very cold-blooded guy. On the other hand, Kyoko is the complete opposite of Naoki. She is dumb; she belongs to the F-class of their school; section which is known as the dumbest section. She is also not very beautiful and her body looks like that of an elementary. But due to years of perseverance, Naoki eventually fell in love with her and they married early due to his mother’s persistence. They also encountered many problems after marriage but they were able to surpass it all. In the end, they had a daughter and lived happily ever after.
It’s just so sad that the author of the manga of this story already died. I bet she will be very happy to hear the number of people who love her story and those who even adapted it into TV drama. Speaking of TV drama, I haven’t watched yet the adaptations of Itazura na Kiss. I’ll check the Wiki page now. Err...there are two adaptations? Oh. So It Started with a Kiss was actually an adaptation of Itazura na Kiss? I’ve heard of this series before. If I’m not wrong...this was aired in ABS-CBN years ago. Playful Kiss was also an adaptation of it. I wonder which one I should watch first. I searched in Google to look which has more video links. It Started with a Kiss has more links than Playful Kiss, and I can also download this. I’ll start with this one first. Speaking of series, this is actually a Taiwanese drama. It’s been long since I watched one. The last one I watched was Frog Prince, wherein the main guy has a big jaw, LOL. Anyway, I’ll start downloading it now.
While waiting for the download to finish, I was chatting in Facebook with one of my friends, also one of my group mates in our thesis – Carla.
“I’m currently downloading It Started with a Kiss now.”
“That’s a must watch, the Kotoko there really looks dumb and stupid. Their acting is very good and the kissing scene is so intimate! ISWAK is definitely good.”
I felt more excited to watch it. I always liked Taiwanese dramas because they are willing to go far with their acting for the sake of good production and satisfying the audience. I wonder if the Irie in that series is handsome. I wish he is. If not, it’s like they’re messing up with my dear Naoki! After an hour, I finally finished downloading the first five episodes. I started to watch ISWAK. I find the opening quite funny so I skipped with it. At first look, the Kotoko there really looks dumb and stupid. She’s so in-character. Then the Irie finally came. Oh my gosh! He is so handsome! He’s now one of my super actor crushes now; along with Lee Dong Wook and Hyun Bin. But I like him, Joe Cheng, the most among the three of them. I continued on watching. I tend to always look only at him while watching. I just really love his face and his acting is really awesome. He looks like a cat!
After a few episodes, I stopped watching and instead surfed the net for articles about Joe Cheng and Ariel Lin (the Kotoko, also known as Xiang Qin). I wasn’t able to confirm whether they dated or if they are currently dating. I couldn’t find articles on who is Joe’s current girlfriend. All I found in the internet is that he is currently serving the army. It is compulsory for men to join the army in Taiwan. And I also read that he secretly joined the army because he didn’t want the media to have a commotion about it. I also read that when the media spotted him one day while he was on duty, he didn’t answer the media’s question and instead he wore a serious expression on his face and said “I can’t answer your questions. I am on duty.” I’m so amazed by how he answered; so manly. And so because of this, one of my opinions of him was that he is not a high and mighty type of actor and I think he’s fairly humble. I also read that he doesn’t like much branded clothes and is thrifty about it. I’ve also searched if there are scandals about him, the one that has many articles was that he’s gay and seems to be dating Mike He. I personally don’t believe it though because it’s just that he seems to treasure friendships and he’s close with Mike He and Ethan Ruan. I’ve read a lot of articles about him. I want to know more about him.
It has always been my dream since I was kid to be a screenwriter and a director. Whenever I came to liking a certain actor/actress, I always wish I could write fantastic stories for them and have them act the characters in my script. I want to write stories that will make them shine more in the entertainment industry. I think for all actors and actresses over Asia, one of the greatest achievements for them is to have a debut or appearance in US entertainment industry. I have observed that whenever someone gets cast in a US film, it’s always a top news in the entertainment section of news program whatever country in Asia.
But this is the first time I felt so strong to meet a certain actor. I want to meet Joe Cheng. I will strive my way to the entertainment industry. I will pursue my passion. I want to be on the same industry as him. I will certainly not give up. Even if it take years, I think this passion will not fade away.
