I find Jameson dress shirt and suit jacket left carelessly on the floor. I picked it up. Jamie has done something stupid I can already tell.

"Heyyyyyy annaaaaa" he slurred his words

"Found your shirt" I reply

"Well thank you very much," Jameson took it from my hands and put it on. He held out his arm for me.

"Shall we get going to this fine will reading Annabelle?"

"Yes we shall." I took his arm and we walked into the great room.

We both sat down next to Grayson. I watched as Jameson gave a little salute to Avery as she went to sit down next to her sister. I saw the way Grayson was tensing up thinking that today would be his last day before he inherited it all. I thought back to the games that me and Tobias Hawthorne would play as he would use my mind to find things that no one else could. It made me think about one of the last things he said to me ,"Anyone on the street or at the shops or anywhere could be special. It is your job to figure out who." At that moment I felt so stupid. Avery he's giving his fortune to Avery. I knew that it wouldn't be Grayson. It's Avery. How did I not notice.

"Now that everyone is here," Mr Ortega said, "let's get started."

Beside him stood four other lawyers .

We were all handed envelopes. My name was written so neatly on the page it was only at the very end of my name on the "Y" could you see his hand started to quiver.

"Mr. Hawthorne stipulated that all of the following individuals must be physically present for the reading of this will: Skye Hawthorne, Zara Hawthorne-Calligaris, Nash Hawthorne, Grayson Hawthorne, Jameson Hawthorne, Alexander Hawthorne, Annabelle Faye Casey and Ms. Avery Kylie Grambs of New Castle, Connecticut." Mr Ortega read

When he read my name it was like it stuck to the back of my head. Why do I need to be here?

"Since you are all here," Mr. Ortega continued, "we may begin."

"I, Tobias Tattersall Hawthorne," Mr. Ortega read, "being of sound body and mind, decree that my worldly possessions, including all monetary and physical assets, be disposed of as follows.

"To Andrew and Lottie Laughlin, for years of loyal service, I bequeath a sum of one hundred thousand dollars apiece, with lifelong, rent-free tenancy granted in Wayback Cottage, located on the western border of my Texas estate."

I couldn't look the Laughlin's in the eye after Emily died. I didn't blame myself or anything it just felt wrong to still hate her even after she was dead.

"To John Oren, head of my security detail, who has saved my life more times and in more ways than I can count, I leave the contents of my toolbox, held currently in the offices of McNamara, Ortega, and Jones, as well as a sum of three hundred thousand dollars."

"To my mother-in-law, Pearl O'Day, I leave an annuity of one hundred thousand dollars a year, plus a trust for medical expenses as set forth in the appendix. All jewellery belonging to my late wife, Alice O'Day Hawthorne, shall pass to her mother upon my death, to be distributed as she sees fit upon hers."

Nan harrumphed. "Don't you go getting any ideas," she ordered the room at large. "I'm going to outlive you all."

I couldn't help but smile. Maybe Nan was my favourite. I watched as Mr Ortega looked at the next line, here is the part where he disinherits them all I guess. "To..." He paused and then tried again. "To my daughters, Zara Hawthorne-Calligaris and Skye Hawthorne, I leave the funds necessary to pay off all debts accrued as of the date and time of my death." Mr. Ortega paused again, his lips pushing themselves together. He was nervous for the next part all of the lawyers were
