Then came Maggie's screams that filled the air and echoed through his mind. She fell to the ground and sobbed loudly. Daryl looked down at her and sobbed with her.

Rick stared at his group. Glenn was crying and on his knees, trying to comfort his wife. Abraham, Rosita, and Tara looked confused and shocked. Even Sasha, who was still very scarred by Bob's death, was crying.

He didn't want to remember Beth like this. Cold, unmoving, lifeless. Instead he tried to remember her greeting him and helping him with Carl when he first arrived at the farm. Her long blond hair that swayed when she walked and how it reminded him of the sun; golden and bright.

He stood there, looking down and remembered when Carl, Hershel, Judith, Beth, and himself were standing in the field at the prison.

"There's a new Sheriff in town." Rick remembered as he placed his Sheriff hat on Beth's head. She giggled that day, and Rick imprinted it in his head.
Rick thought of the restless nights they had when Judith was younger and cried through the whole night. One night it was so bad that neither of them got any sleep.

He cherished these memories and vowed to not only remember her this way- he'd also do everything in his power to somehow make this awful death up to her. If he could.
