The Zodiac spirits act a bit differently than the four main Elemental spirits. When they are not attached to a human host, they either sleep in a magic scroll (like Sylph did) until a human gets a hold of their scroll allowing them to make a contract with the spirit or they wander around in their animal form living their best life until someone captures and makes a contract with them. Unlike the main Elemental spirits who are powerful enough to choose who they are contracted to, the Zodiac Spirits aren't. They can be forced to make contracts or bond with people they don't like or don't want to be with. Due to past abuse or neglect or not liking people, they're very good about hiding their Scrolls and preventing themselves from being forced into servitude. They can also act like a magic item if someone has a scroll that isn't completely compatible with their magic. For the most part, the fire Spirits can make contracts with anyone with a high enough affiliation with fire magic. or someone simply capable of casting fire spells. They bond with someone if their magic is closely branched off of their elemental attribute and act similarly to a magic item. For example: Capricorn's magic attribute is liquid earth which is similar to liquid metal or mercury so Capricorn can bond with Nozel.
The Zodiac spirits' animal Forms don't really reflect their actual age or gender. The Zodiac Spirits can choose to have a humanoid form and have full control over what that form looks like(outside of looking half human half animal), the gender of the form, and the age of the form. The age and gender of the humanoid form do not reflect the age or the gender of the zodiac spirit.

🐏 Aries specializes in shields or defense magic. She can summon shields or walls of fire to block against attacks or to protect several people. Her fire is a beautiful yellow.
Aries identifies as female both as a ram and in their humanoid form however they stop taking form in their Humanity form about three centuries ago. Aries have been abused or taken advantage of by past human hosts over the centuries it's been alive and have become more timid and shy than they normally would be. Estella found him cowering in fear after being built by some children when she was about 23. She nursed her back to health and let her follow her around not knowing she was a spirit until years later. Estella is not contracted or bonded with Aries and simply cares for her as a friend.
